    Cajun Jambalaya Pasta Recipe

Have you ever gone to Cheesecake Factory and checked out their menu? WOW!! What a selection, right? Well, a few years back, my husband ordered their recipe for Jambalaya pasta and after I tried just one bite, I was hooked. In fact, if I remember right, I may or may not have had several bites off his plate. Not only was the cream sauce packed with flavor, but it offered the perfect amount of heat. I knew I had to try to make an at home version since I would definitely be craving it again and again!

After a few trial and errors, adjusting the recipe, and try new variations, this copycat version came about and has been a family favorite ever since! It’s as close to the real deal as you can get without having to go to the restaurant!

Cheesecake Factory Cajun Jambalaya Copycat Recipe Ingredient Notes

This dish uses simple ingredients, most of which you may already have on hand. See printable recipe card at the bottom of this post for exact ingredient amounts and directions.

    • Olive Oil– you’ll use this to saute the chicken, peppers, onion, and garlic. You can also use vegetable oil.
    • Chicken– for this recipe, you’ll use boneless skinless chicken breasts diced into small pieces. Chicken tenders work great as well, just be sure to cut them into thin strips.
    • Bell Peppers– I use red bell peppers and green bell peppers, however, yellow or orange works great too.
    • Onion– one yellow onion, diced is all you need. White onions work great too.
    • Garlic– freshly minced is best, but you can also use the jarred kind.
    • Shrimp– I use small, de-veined shrimp, however, you can also use salad shrimp. Use fresh or frozen, be sure to remove the tails before adding them to the pan.
    • Sausage– I use andouille sausage, any flavor works great.
    • Cajun seasoning– use your favorite Cajun spice blend. We love Slap Ya Mama or Cajun Nation, but Chupacabra is great too.
    • Salt– feel free to omit this if you are trying to reduce sodium.
    • Chicken Broth– this helps to make the cream sauce, you can use reduced sodium to save on salt count. Chicken stock works great too.
    • Heavy Whipping Cream– you’ll need about ½ cup, any brand works great as this is the creaminess for the sauce.
    • Pasta– I use spaghetti or fettuccine, however, you can also use linguini pasta if desired.

Tips for making Copycat Cheesecake Factory Cajun Pasta

    • Feel free to adjust the Cajun seasoning to fit your tastes. If you like a little extra heat, increase the seasoning. Prefer things a bit more mild, add half the amount and taste from there.
    • To make it creamier, you can add in up to 2 tablespoon cream cheese at the end and stir until melted.
    • For an added vegetable addition, feel free to add diced tomatoes at the end once ready to serve.
    • This Cheesecake Factory Copycat recipe can also be made using jasmine rice in place of the pasta if desired.

How to store this cheesecake factory Cajun Jambalaya pasta recipe

    • Transfer any remaining Cheesecake Factory jambalaya leftovers to an airtight container and refrigerate for 2 to 4 days.
    • Reheat on the stove or in the microwave until warmed through, adding splashes of chicken broth as needed for additional moisture.
    • To freeze, allow to cool entirely before placing in a freezer safe container. You can freeze this recipe up to 3 months. Thaw overnight before heating.
    • If you want to make this ahead of time, I recommend making everything except the pasta and combining once ready to serve.

Serving Suggestions for Jambalaya Pasta Cheesecake Factory

When you order this dish at the restaurant, it is often served with a side of garlic bread as it is a filling meal on its own. If you’re looking for side suggestions, I would recommend a side of loaded cornbread, cheesy garlic bread, or fluffy dinner rolls. Of course, a small side salad or corn on the cob makes great side options as well. You can’t go wrong!
