Charro Beans

One thing I often request for my mom to cook me is her amazing charro beans! I just love them so much. Often times I cook them at home on their own and just have a big bowl. My husband calls them bean soup haha. This is my pot luck go to dish, and they go fast! I serve them Texas style in a styrofoam cup with a spoon. I hope your family enjoys this recipe as much as mine does.

1 (53 oz) can of of Bush’s Pinto Beans
1 package of bacon
1 cup of diced onion
2 cloves of garlic
1 tomato diced
1/4 cup of cilantro chopped
2 hot dogs diced
3 whole jalapeños diced
3 chicken Knorr bouillon cubes

Place the can of beans in a large pot a long with a can of water and bring to a boil. At the same time cook the diced package of bacon in a separate pan . Remove cooked bacon and add to the pot of beans. Leave bacon grease in pan to cook remaining ingredients . Cook until onions are soft. Add to the pot of beans . Throw in the Knorr cubes, let it boil for 15 minutes. The jalapeños are kind of a hit or miss, if you still desire more heat in your beans you can add the liquid from canned jalapeños until desired heat is reached.
