No worries though because once you try this, you will always have taco seasoning on hand! Using a few staple ingredients, this seasoning comes together in no time and can be adjusted to taste.

What ingredients are needed for Homemade Taco Seasoning:
Chili Powder
Ground Cumin
Paprika
Salt/Pepper
Garlic Powder
Onion Powder
Red Pepper Flakes
Dried Oregano
This version makes 9 tbsp total, so I put it in a small storage container and pull it out when needed.
*Keep unused seasoning in a sealed mason jar or air-tight container for up to 3 months.
How to make taco meat:
Brown 1 lb ground beef (or turkey) with 1/2 diced onion. Cook until meat is no longer pink.
Drain fat.
Add in 2 tablespoon homemade seasoning as well as 1/4 cup water.
Stir to fully incorporate and allow to simmer for about 5 minutes, or until water has reduced.
Serve in taco shells with toppings of your choosing.

- 2 tablespoon ground cumin
- 2 teaspoon paprika
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
