Game Day Chili

With it being football season, it is the perfect time to make some yummy chili. Invite your friends over, cheer on the Seahawks in the Superbowl, and dive into a yummy bowl of chili. Not only is this chili super quick and easy to make, but it is packed with flavor and will be a huge hit with everyone!!!


  • 2 3/4 lb-3lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • Salt/Pepper to taste
  • 1 can Mexican tomatoes (Rotel OR tomatoes w/ onion and jalapenos)
  • 1 can chili beans
  • 2 can kidney beans
  • 3 packets McCormick chili seasoning
  • About 36-42 oz V-8 tomato juice



  1. Brown beef and onion together in a skillet.
  2. Drain fat and add in salt/pepper.
  3. Add beans, tomatoes, V-8, and chili packets. Simmer until warm and ready to serve!
  4. Adjust V-8 juice and chili seasonings to taste.
  5. Serve with some cheddar cheese, Fritos, diced onion, and sour cream!!

*This can also be made in the slow cooker. Just cook the turkey/onion as directed above. Add ingredients and turkey to slow cooker and simmer on low for about 6-7 hours, high for about 3-4.

    Hi! What did you use for the can of “Mexican tomatoes”? Do you mean the Rotel brand of tomatoes with green chilies? Also what are the sizes of the cans in this recipe? It looks great and I’d love to try it for this Sunday’s football gathering. Thank you!

    My husband doesn’t like chili w/ beans either and what I’ve discovered is smashing the beans instead of leaving them whole. Still get all the added protein, and flavor from the beans 🙂
