These smoked deviled eggs are a show-stopping twist on an old classic recipe! Perfectly flavorful and the perfect appetizer to accompany any meal!
Smoked Deviled Eggs Inspiration
First off, I owe you all a huge apology because I have been sitting on this recipe for over one month now. I feel bad about that because this recipe is one that the world NEEDS to have in their lives. Because this appetizer or snack is a total game changer!
For Christmas Eve each year, my parents host. My mom makes a beef tenderloin and puts together an incredible spread. We literally eat the entire day, play games, drink, and open presents. This year, my hubby wanted to make an easy appetizer to add to the day and decided to prepare a dozen deviled eggs. He wanted to add a new twist to them by giving them a new smoky flavor, and they were the best deviled eggs we’ve ever had! They bring a whole better taste than the eggs grandma made growing up.
He hard boiled the eggs in my Instant Pot, but from there, he took the reins of these, and the end result was incredible! I must have had about 3-4 myself—and I even saw my nephew with 2 in his hand and going back for seconds! Impressive, right? Enjoy these Smoked Deviled Eggs! Better late than never with this egg recipe, right?
Smoked Deviled Eggs Ingredients
Large eggs: You are going to want to hard boil and peel your fresh eggs.
Mayonnaise: This is what’s going to help you hold it all together!
Chives, diced: Chives are very much like mild onions, giving a hint of, some would say, the taste of leeks.
Brown mustard: This kind of mustard is packed full of flavor and it will bring your eggs to life. Some say it holds hints of garlic and horseradish.
Apple cider vinegar: If you’re familiar with this unique vinegar, then you’ll know it holds a very specific smell and taste. However, you’ll only use just enough so that it won’t likely make a huge difference—especially given all of the other powerful ingredients around it like brown mustard, chupacabra, and the paprika later on!
Salt/pepper: You certainly don’t need a lot but just a little on the tops will do!
Smoked paprika: You’ll just want to use a little paprika to spring on top for a slightly sweet, slightly peppery taste.
Chupacabra/Slap Ya Mama: These are both a hot sauce that you can add for an extra little kick should you want it! If you’re a fan of spice, this will take it to the next level!
Cooked, crumbled bacon: Jalapeno bacon is the perfect addition but whatever you prefer works well too! These little snacks are not only packed full of flavor but of protein too!

Smoked deviled eggs are awesome, but you should use eggs that are smoked in the pics for the recipe. Those eggs don’t even look like they’ve been smoked. They should appear brown on the outside. You can cold-smoke them so they don’t dry out too much. Then you know you have the real smoke flavor. Otherwise, delicious.

These are smoked in the picture; however, these were only lightly smoked as we were experimenting with timing of the smoke, etc. Since then, we have adjusted, and they do have slightly more of a brown color to them. So delicious indeed!
