If you love trying new cocktails and margarita recipes out, also check out my Malibu Sunset, Tasty Lemon Drop, and Blood Orange Margaritas!

A few years back, my dad sent me a text one evening after hosting some friends and told me about the new margarita recipe he had made. Using some frozen limeade concentrate with some classic margarita liquors, he had a pitcher of frozen margaritas ready to share in under 5 minutes. Since then, they have now become a staple when we are looking for a quick and easy cocktail to enjoy! Whether you choose to make this Minute Maid Limeade Margarita recipe in bulk when hosting, or make a smaller amount for just a few people, this easy frozen drink may just be your new fav!

Why You’ll Love this Frozen Margarita Limeade Recipe

    • Only 3 ingredients needed– this frozen margarita recipe can’t get any easier! Using frozen limeade concentrate, tequila, and triple sec, you’re set!
    • Affordable, especially when hosting– when hosting large groups, it can get expensive. Keep things more affordable and makes these margaritas using whichever tequila and triple sec is on sale.
    • Customizable– this recipe can be made into a full pitcher for a big batch, or halved for only a few. Plus, you can add in some frozen berries to make this a strawberry margarita, garnish with some lime wedges, make this virgin by omitting the tequila and triple sec, etc. So many great options to make this your own.
    • Refreshing– citrus flavors combine with the minute maid frozen limeade to make a drink that is perfect to enjoy by the pool, during a BBQ, summer outing, and more!

Ingredient Notes for Frozen Limeade Margaritas

Below you’ll find some notes about the simple ingredients needed in this drink. To see the printable recipe card with exact amounts and step by step directions, scroll below to the bottom of this post.

    • Frozen Limeade– if you head to the freezer section of your local grocery store, you’ll find Minute Maid Limeade in a can. You can use any other brands found, however, Minute Maid is my go-to.
    • Tequila– any type works, whatever you find on sale or have on hand is great!
    • Triple Sec– this adds the sweet, orange-flavored citrus punch to the drinks.

How to make this Frozen Margarita Recipe with Limeade

    1. In your blender, add the frozen limeade, tequila, and triple sec.
    2. Fill the rest of the blender up with ice (nugget or crushed ice make it easier to blend).
    3. Blend until mixture is smooth.
    4. Feel free to taste the mixture at this point and adjust to tastes. Add more ice if too strong, add more limeade if needed, or even additional alcohol or some water.
    5. Rim margarita glasses with lime juice, followed by dipping the glasses into margarita kosher salt.
    6. Remove lid from blender and pour mixture evenly into each rimmed glass. *Rimming glasses is optional, but really completes the look and taste.
    7. Optional: garnish with fresh lime slices or orange wedges. Serve and enjoy!

Tips for the best blended margaritas

    • Keep your alcohol chilled. This really helps keep it from diluting when combining with the ice. I love to store my triple sec and tequila in the refrigerator until ready to blend.
    • Have fun with the add in’s. You can use fresh or frozen fruit such as strawberries or blackberries to change the flavor, add in a splash of fresh lime juice, don’t skip the garnish or salted rim.
    • Feel free to use grand marnier or Cointreau in place of the triple sec if that is what you have on hand. Either works great!

    Storing

If you’re lucky enough to have leftovers, simply place into the freezer until ready to serve again. You may want to blend the mixture again and possibly add in some more ice to make them frozen, however, storing in the freezer keeps them just as tasty the second round!
