This Beachside Cocktail comes together using only 3 ingredients and tastes like summer in a drink! Refreshing, flavorful, and a favorite with many!
Living in Houston, TX…the weather has already felt like summer for a few months. Hot, sticky, and some days….bumping 100 degrees! Needless to say, we have been having lots of pool days and grilling outside!
Last week, my kids were swimming in the pool, my hubby was manning the grill, and I was preparing potato salad to go with dinner.
My hubby quickly came inside and asked if I wanted a drink. Of course I did! He went over to the bar area and a few minutes later, out came these delicious drinks! Needless to say, I was impressed! I had been expecting a Jack and Coke, or Raspberry Lemonade Cocktail, so this was a fun treat!
One sip in and it was a popular drink in my book. After finding out what was in it, I realized it was pretty low calorie too (using Sprite Zero in lieu of regular Sprite since that was all we had on hand). It’s such an easy tropical drink! It was such a colorful, refreshing cocktail and we both agreed we needed to add it to our rotation.
My hubby is getting pretty good at playing bartender these days and coming up with some great new variety so stay tuned for lots more to come! If you love a great drink recipe, the hubby always comes through!
Next time you are out grilling, or by the pool, beach, etc….whip this Beachside Cocktail up and taste a bit of summer in your glass! Beachside Cocktail Variations
Want to make this drink more your own? Add your own secret ingredient to make it special. Here are some ideas!
- Lime juice: Add lime juice if you love a stronger lime flavor.
- Simple syrup: If you feel your drink isn’t sweet enough, you can always add as much simple syrup as desired.
- Fresh pineapple: You can also use sliced pineapple as a rim decoration for a more tropical vibe! But if you love a good lime wheel, that works too! You can also use a splash of pineapple juice.
- Orange liqueur: If you can’t get enough orange flavor, it pairs with most fruity drinks, so don’t be afraid to try it! A splash of orange juice works too!
- Cranberry juice: If you cannot find or like cran-cherry juice, using cranberry juice or its other cran-variations can work too.
