This looks and sounds wonderful! Couple questions about substitutions. I’m not an instant coffee fan, so never have it on hand and it’s hardly worth buying for 1 teaspoon. Any reason why I couldn’t substitute 2 teaspoons of brewed coffee for the 1 teaspoon Instant coffee granules and 1 teaspoon hot water? Also, I always have a couple tubs of Cool Whip in my freezer; would it work in place of the whipped heavy whipping cream? I know it doesn’t hold up for as long as whipped cream does, but I don’t anticipate having a single crumb of this pie leftover. ;o) Thanks, Kristin.

Hi Cindy, the brewed coffee should work great, no problem! As for the cool whip, it wouldn’t be the same consistency as you mentioned, but as long as it stays chilled and then enjoyed immediately thereafter, should work great! Enjoy and keep me posted!

What is a good sour cream substitute! That is something I can’t eat without having problems! I make a delicious silk pie and a cream cheese & cool whip pie with fruit, but would love to try this

How about plain Greek yogurt in place of the sour cream?? Enjoy!!
