    Chocolate Chip Cookie Delight Recipe

I love layered desserts. Especially ones that combine several favorites into one tasty sweet treat. From chocolate chip cookies, to chocolate pudding, a tasty cream cheese layer, and cool whip, what’s not to love, right?!

If you scroll through the blog, chances are, you’ll quickly realize I love desserts! Especially chocolate! I have a major sweet tooth and love trying new combinations!

This Chocolate Chip Cookie Pudding Cake came about simply from me having some cookie dough on hand and not knowing what to do with it. Since the first time I have made it, it has quickly become a family favorite and one I love to make for company, potlucks, picnics, and gatherings! Plus it’s so easy to make with store-bought cookie dough, instant pudding mixes, and Cool Whip.

You may have heard of this recipe called Chocolate Chip Cookie Delight, Chocolate Chip Pudding Dessert, or even Chocolate Chip Cookie Lasagna! No matter the name, it is a delicious, easy, flavor packed sweet treat!

    Ingredients Needed:

Full printable recipe card located at the bottom of this post

    • Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough– store bought or homemade works great
    • Cream Cheese- softened, this gives you a layer that’s reminiscent of cream cheese frosting
    • Powdered Sugar
    • Cool Whip- thawed **you can also make your own if desired
    • Milk
    • Chocolate Pudding Mix/Vanilla Pudding Mix- they’re combined for a creamy, silky layer of deliciousness.
    • Chocolate Chips- depending on how many you want to sprinkle on top

How to make Chocolate Chip Cookie Lasagna

    1. Prep Ingredients- allow cookie dough to stand at room temperature for a few minutes. Gather rest of ingredients while waiting and preheat oven.
    2. Cookie Layer- gently spread into greased 9×13 baking pan. Bake for 14-16 minutes or until golden brown.
    3. Cream Cheese Layer- mix together the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and fluffy. Add in 1 ½ cups whipped topping and spread over cookie layer.
    4. Pudding Layer- combine the milk with both the chocolate and vanilla pudding mixes and beat for 2 minutes, or until thickened. Spread pudding layer on top of cream cheese layer.
    5. Cool Whip- spread remaining cool whip on top of pudding layer.
    6. Chill- refrigerate for a minimum of 8 hours. Sprinkle desired amount of chocolate chips on top of cake just before serving. Keep refrigerated when not eating!

    Additional Topping Ideas

This layered dessert can easily be adapted to fit anyone’s tastes! Here are just a few options to try!

    • Peanut Butter Cups- chopped
    • M & M’s
    • Coconut Flakes
    • Chopped Nuts
    • Fresh Raspberries
    • Chopped Oreos

    How to Store

This Chocolate Chip Cookie Pudding Cake needs to be stored in the refrigerator when not serving! Cover the pan with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

To freeze, cover with plastic wrap and aluminum foil. Place in the freezer for up to 3 months. Simply thaw when ready to serve!

Try to avoid keeping out as the cool whip layer tends to melt and make this rather messy!

Tips for the ULTIMATE Chocolate Chip Layered Cookie Delight

    • Store Chocolate Chip Cookie Delight in the refrigerator. Not only will it spoil if kept on the countertop, it will become a mushy mess that’s hard to serve neatly
    • The pudding layer needs to be thick and creamy, which means you should use 2 percent or whole milk. Skim milk will be too watery.
    • DO NOT add toppings to this until right before serving. If you add them before the 8 hour refrigeration time, the cookies will get soggy and the mini chocolate chips get wet.
    • Store bought cookie dough OR homemade work great! Here is a homemade chocolate chip cookie recipe that is GREAT in this layered dessert!

    More Delish Desserts to try

Banana Pudding– homemade, from scratch recipe makes the creamiest and most flavorful banana pudding around!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownie Bites– creamy peanut butter filling in a chocolate fudge brownie

Chocolate Eclair Cake– an old fashioned icebox cake with layers of graham crackers, pudding, and chocolate frosting. An easy no bake dessert recipe that everyone loves!

Chocolate Raspberry Mousse Cake– rich, flavorful, and quite the sweet treat! Flour-less chocolate cake, decadent raspberry mousse, and creamy chocolate mousse combined!

In our family we called this “better that sex cake”, or when we put it in the freezer and eat it cold its like ice cream cake.
