Love the seasonal Chick-fil-A Peppermint Milkshake? This Copycat Chick-fil-A Peppermint Milkshake is creamy, minty, and studded with chocolatey peppermint pieces. The best part? You can make it year-round with simple ingredients from your pantry!

a copycat chick-fil a-peppermint milkshake in a mug with whipped cream and mini chocolate chips.

As a mom with three kids who basically consider the Chick-fil-A drive-thru our second home, I had to figure out how to recreate their peppermint chip milkshake at home. After a few "very official" taste-tests with my husband, this version nailed it: thick, minty, and totally irresistible. If your family loves Chick-fil-A like mine, don't miss my Copycat Chick-fil-A Chicken Tortilla Soup and Copycat Chick-fil-A Sauce too!

Perfect for Christmas movie nights, cookie-baking marathons (check out my Christmas Cookie Collection), or when you're craving that holiday shake in June and can't make it to CFA.

What You’ll Love About This Recipe

    • Tastes like the real deal: You get that signature Chick-fil-A peppermint shake flavor without leaving the house.
    • Budget-friendly: One batch costs less than a single drive-thru shake (yep… that hurts a little).
    • Year-round ingredients: Stock up on candy canes after Christmas and you're set for months.
    • Customizable: Make it extra minty, extra chocolaty, or use peppermint ice cream for a faster shortcut.
    • Kid and adult approved: It's the kind of holiday dessert drink that makes the whole family smile.

    Ingredient Notes

See printable recipe card below for exact measurements.

all the ingredients needed to make a copycat chick fil a peppermint milkshake.
    • Candy Canes: Crushed candy canes, peppermint bark pieces, or peppermint candies all work.
    • Chocolate Chips: Mini chips blend best and give you those classic "peppermint chip shake" flecks.
    • Vanilla Ice Cream: Choose a rich, high-fat vanilla for the creamiest results. Peppermint ice cream is a fun twist.
    • Milk: Whole milk gives you that thick Chick-fil-A texture, however, heavy cream or low-fat milk works too.
    • Toppings: Whipped cream, a cherry, sprinkles, crushed candy cane, or chocolate syrup.

    Tips & Fun Serving Ideas

    • Want more peppermint? Add ½ teaspoon peppermint extract.
    • Thicker shake: Add extra ice cream, never ice (it waters things down!).
    • Thinner shake: Add a splash of milk.
    • Freeze your glasses: Makes the holiday milkshake feel extra frosty and restaurant-quality.
    • Perfect Pairings: Try it alongside Christmas favorites like: Chocolate Crinkle Cookies, Peanut Butter Blossoms, or Christmas Puppy Chow.

    Storage

    • Short Term: Chill in the fridge for a few minutes if needed.
    • Longer Storage: Freeze up to 1-2 days. Let thaw slightly and re-blend to restore that creamy milkshake magic.
