If you had asked my hubby years ago, if he liked rice, he would have said “NO WAY”! He was not a fan, literally ate around the rice on his plate, and always said it was because it was “flavorless”.
Fast forward a few years, we bought a rice cooker and he was more on board with it. I would make orange chicken, chicken fried rice, or a salmon dish and pair some rice with it. He happily ate it up, however, the rice cooker took forever. It would take about 45 minutes to prepare, so it wasn’t one of those things I could throw together quickly.
Now that I have caved into the Instant Pot world, I decided to try my hand at making rice. Being cautiously optimistic, my hubby and I experimented with making it the first day our Instant Pot arrived. Surprisingly, it turned out PERFECT, even better than in the rice cooker, and took only a fraction of the time. The rice was fluffy and moist, and paired perfectly with our salmon.

What is an Instant Pot and can you cook as normal rice?
Kristin
An Instant Pot is a brand of a pressure cooker! This recipe is specifically for the pressure cooker, so if you don’t have one, you wouldn’t want to follow on the stove top. Hope that helps!!
