Why try this Garlic Pizza Bread

    • Perfect Anytime– whether you make these on a busy weeknight, or serve at a party as an appetizer or snack, its a crowd pleaser! Only about $3/ serving!!
    • Fully Customizable– not only can you add your favorite toppings, but you can also choose what cheese you add,  but you can even change up the base of the pizza depending on what you have on hand and prefer.
    • Picky Kid Approved– we love placing bowls on the table and letting everyone create their owns pizzas. Once oven ready, you only need about 6-8 minutes until you are ready to enjoy!
    • Quick and Easy– using shortcut ingredients, this meal is practically fool proof. This is a great option to let the kids make to get them involved in the kitchen.

    Ingredients Needed

Below is a brief overview of each ingredient needed. To see printable recipe card with exact amounts and directions, scroll to the bottom of this post, or click the “jump to recipe” button at the top.

    • Garlic Bread– I use frozen garlic bread or frozen garlic toast as I almost always have it on hand. You can also make homemade garlic bread and use that as the base in this recipe.
    • Pizza Sauce– use your favorite brand or make your own. You can also use marinara sauce if in a pinch, just note its a bit thinner in consistency. To change it up, you can use Alfredo sauce or pesto sauce in place of the pizza sauce.
    • Cheese– shredded Mozzarella cheese is my go-to, however, my kids love adding Parmesan cheese too.
    • Toppings– have fun with this part. Anything goes. See some great options below.

What bread is best for Garlic Bread Pizza?

There are so many great options and you can’t go wrong no matter what you choose. From using frozen garlic bread, to frozen garlic toast, to homemade garlic bread, it is all great options. You can also get a loaf French bread and combine some butter and fresh garlic to spread the garlic butter mixture over the bread to use as a base. This creates a French Bread Pizza and is a great option. Personally, my go-to is Texas Toast because my kids love it and I buy a few boxes when it’s on sale, so it’s always on hand. If you want this to be a gluten-free option, use gluten free garlic bread and you’re set.

    Best Pizza Toppings

These pizzas can be made as simple or as extravagant as desired. Here are just some of our favorite options:

    • Cheese: I love using fresh Mozzarella with some fresh grated Parmesan cheese on top. You can also use Romano cheese, Provolone, Gouda, add some Feta, use fresh sliced Mozzarella versus shredded, etc.
    • Protein: pepperoni slices, sausage, and ham are the classic options, however, you can add bacon, brisket, pork, seasoned ground beef, chicken, and more.
    • Veggies: diced onions, jalapenos, bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, tomatoes, pickles, minced garlic, pineapple (not a veggie, but still delicious), etc.
    • Herbs: this is a great garnish to add just before serving, or add to your pizza sauce for more flavor. Fresh Basil, Parsley, and Oregano make great additions.

    Making Garlic Toast Pizzas

    1. Preheat oven and prepare baking sheet. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees and line and baking sheet with parchment paper, aluminum foil, or use a silicone baking mat.
    2. Place garlic bread on prepared sheet pan. Separate bread and place on pan.
    3. Spread pizza sauce evenly on top of bread. Use as much or as little sauce as you desire. I like using a small amount to really let the garlic flavor shine.
    4. Sprinkle cheese. Freshly shredded Mozzarella is best as compared to using the bags as they are coated with an additive to prevent clumping and don’t melt evenly.
    5. Add toppings. This is the fun part. Add all your toppings to fully customize it.
    6. Bake in oven. Once your pizza is fully loaded, place in oven to bake about 6-8 minutes if using garlic toast, or up to 20-25 minutes if using loaves. Remove and enjoy!

step by step on how to make Garlic Bread Pizza.

    Make Ahead and Storage

    • Make ahead: I recommend making these when needed as the sauce can make them a bit mushy if left sitting for too long. To save time, prepare and chop your toppings. When ready to assemble, take everything from the fridge and load up the breads.
    • Storage: store any leftovers of garlic bread pizza in the fridge in an air-tight container or bag for 3-4 days. Reheat in the toaster oven or air fryer to make it crispy again.

What a quick and tasty little pizza…I wish I would have thought of this years ago…this is so much better than using English muffins…I made them just like the photo…including the side salad for lunch…
