    Why You’ll Love this Recipe

This simple recipe uses a few shortcut ingredients and is a family favorite! Here are a few reasons why you too will love this recipe:

    • A trip down memory lane– growing up, I remember my mom making this for weekend breakfasts and I would enjoy the leftovers as a quick breakfast option before school. My cafeteria even offered their own version of this recipe for a lunch option on occasion and it was always one of my favorites.
    • Quick and Easy– using a few shortcut ingredients, this sausage breakfast pizza can be oven ready in under 10 minutes!
    • Customizable– feel free to make it your own by using crescent dough in place of the pizza crust, add in more veggies, use bacon in place of sausage, etc. So many great options!
    • Prep ahead of time– my mom makes this as a breakfast option on most Holidays and it was always a huge convenience being able to prep it the night before, cover and refrigerate. Once morning came, she would uncover the pan and place in the oven!
    • Reheats perfectly– if you’re lucky enough to have leftovers, they reheat perfectly in the microwave making the perfect grab and go start to your day!

Ingredients Needed for Pillsbury Breakfast Pizza

Below is a brief overview of the ingredients needed. To see exact amounts and step by step directions, scroll to the printable recipe card below.

    • Sausage– feel free to use any brand and flavor of breakfast sausage. I love using maple flavored breakfast sausage, but any type works great. I use pork sausage, however, turkey sausage works good too if preferred.
    • Pillsbury Pizza Crust– this is my most favorite shortcut as it cooks up perfectly every time! If you prefer, you can also use crescent roll dough and press the seams together to form a crust.
    • Hash Browns– you’ll need 1-2 cups of frozen hash browns, but allow them to thaw a bit. For added flavor, you can use potato o’brien which includes onions and peppers.
    • Shredded Cheddar Cheese– freshly shredded is best as it melts evenly. You can also substitute mozzarella cheese is desired.
    • Eggs– you’ll need 6 large eggs for this recipe.
    • Milk– any type works. I use 2%, but whole milk or skim milk work too.
    • Salt/ Pepper– adjust according to tastes.
    • Parmesan Cheese– shredded is best over grated cheese, however, the classic green can works great too.

step by step on how to make breakfast pizza.

    Storing School Breakfast Pizza

    • After the pizza cools, place in an airtight container or bag. Make sure it has an airtight seal and put in the fridge. You will want to eat the pizza within the next 3-4 days. You can reheat it in the air fryer, microwave, OR enjoy it cold!
    • To freeze, place pieces into a freezer safe container or bag. You can freeze it for up to 3 months.
    • To make ahead, assemble pizza as directed, but stop once you sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top. Cover with plastic wrap and aluminum foil and place into refrigerator up to 48 hours. Once ready to cook, remove cover and place in oven. Add a few additional minutes to the cook time since it is chilled.

Do you bake the crust before adding all the other stuff to then cook together

What are the measurements of your cookie sheet used in this recipe?

I use a 10×15-inches sheet pan, however, you can go larger or smaller. It’ll just change the thickness of the crust! Enjoy!
