The Best Homemade Fudge
Homemade fudge is a Holiday staple. With so many flavor options, fudge makes the perfect addition to any goodie tray assembled. In fact, this fudge has become a yearly tradition that my hubby makes. Yes, you read that right. My HUBBY is the one that has perfected fudge.
Growing up, my mom made her famous Fantasy Fudge. She would double, triple, or even quadruple her recipe to make sure each tray she assembled had plenty to devour.
When my hubby and I married, he was introduced to her fudge and immediately fell in love. Since my hubby and I are big chocolate peanut butter fans, he began taste testing several variations until he came up with this perfect combination. His initial thought was to add peanut butter into the Fantasy Fudge, but the end result just didn’t work. When he decided to try this two layered version, that is when the magic happened. Each layer was smooth and creamy, and when combined, they created a mouthwatering flavor that just couldn’t be beat! Since then, it has become a Holiday staple, in addition to the family favorite fudge!

Storage Tips
SLICE: Cut the fudge into small squares and serve at room temperature for very soft consistency. You can serve this chilled as well, but it won’t be as smooth and creamy.
STORE: Store the peanut butter chocolate fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
FREEZER: Wrap the fudge in wax paper and then with aluminum foil. The fudge will keep in the freezer for about 4 months when frozen this way.
How long is fudge good for?
In my house, it gets eaten up quickly! Here are some tips in case it lasts longer than a few days in yours!
Airtight Container at room temperature- up to 3 weeks
Freezer- 4 months
Expert Tips
- Fudge slices best with a sharp chef’s knife.
- This easy fudge is ideal for the holidays! It’s perfect to add to your dessert table at home or even nicer to make as gifts for teachers, friends, and family.
- Warm the knife first by running it under hot water. Dry the knife with a clean cloth and begin to slice the fudge.
- Watch the sugar mixture carefully because if it burns or overheats even a few degrees, the texture of the fudge becomes dry and crumbly.
- Slice the fudge into small pieces because it is quite rich.
- Add this to any and every Holiday tray you can as it makes the perfect addition and becomes the favorite at any gathering.

Can your fudge be left out or does it need to be kept in the fridge?
Kristin
Either works, but I prefer mine on the counter, room temperature! It won’t lose its shape and is delicious!
