Sausage Stuffed Jalapenos make the perfect appetizer - jalapeño halves filled with a sausage and cheese mixture for a cheesy and spicy appetizer. Great for game day or any occasion!

cheesy sausage mixture stuffed into jalapeno halves and cooked to perfection

Years ago, my mom introduced my hubby and I to stuffed jalapenos. Honestly, before that day, we had never even heard of the combination!

Since then, we make them for any and all occasions. Not only are they great for hosting people, but they are perfect on football Sunday, or when we fire up the grill.

Check out these other great appetizer options:

    Texas Twinkies

    Incredible Texas Trash Dip

    Smoked Deviled Eggs

There is nothing better than the crisp bacon, creamy goat cheese, all stuffed into a jalapeno, right?!!

A few weeks back, I decided to change things up a bit since I had some sausage in the freezer and cream cheese in the fridge! We cleaned out the jalapenos (be sure to get all those seeds otherwise it will have quite the kick to it), stuffed it with the cream cheese sausage mixture and threw these on the grill.

Ingredients Needed for these Sausage Stuffed Jalapenos:

    Ground sausage (I used spicy)

    Cream cheese

    Cheddar cheese, shredded

    Jalapenos, halved and seeded

    Green onion, chopped

    Garlic powder

If you are making these in the winter and don’t want to grill, no biggie, simply place on a cookie sheet and cook in the oven!

The flavor was amazing and since we had leftover cheese mixture, we ran back to the store the next day for more jalapenos and had my parents over for round two.

The bacon wrapped jalapenos are the perfect side dish to any meal, whereas these sausage stuffed jalapenos are a great meal idea! We added some grilled pineapple to our dinner and called it done!

You have a few options when it comes to the cheese filling, so be sure to pick your favorite! If you love cream cheese, stick with that. Prefer things a bit creamier? How about goat cheese? You can even use both and simply halve the amount below for each type of cheese.

Personally, we love goat cheese in these because the texture and flavor is much more enhanced, but if we are making a lot of these for a party, we go with cream cheese. Much more budget friendly and typically preferred amongst a crowd!

Enjoy and be sure to let me know what you think in the comment section below if you try them!!
