Have you all tried my French Onion rice yet?? Well, this is basically the same thing, only made in a fraction of the time using your Instant Pot! Its a toss and go type of recipe, which is definitely my favorite!

You may know this recipe as “stick of butter” rice. Well, that name just doesn’t make this appealing, plus, using only half a stick…I don’t want to fool ya, haha!

Tender rice with a French Onion flavoring that makes an incredible side dish!

A few nights ago, my hubby smoked a whole chicken and while he was outside by the smoker, I tossed the ingredients into my Instant Pot, played Candy Crush on my phone a bit, and this cooked itself! I think I got the better end of dinner prep that night, right?!

Don’t you just love those meals that come together in no time? How ever did we survive without the Instant Pot?! A few years back, Instant Pot’s made a huge splash in the market and everyone was buying one. At first, I was hesistant thinking it would be another kitchen appliance in my cupboards. After a few months of holding out, I finally caved, bought one, and since then, have been hooked. In fact, I now own two and just about any and every accessory available! Not only can I have something prepared in a fraction of the time before, but clean up is a breeze in my non stick liner (check the link out below in the recipe card).

We had the chicken, this rice, and veggies and even the leftovers the next night were just as tasty!

My dad isn’t a huge onion fan, but even he likes this rice. So before you go turning your nose up at it, give it a try. The onion flavor isn’t too intense, so it doesn’t over power this dish!

I have been eating rice like this since I was a kid! But I have never made it In the instant pot! Also, if you like mushrooms, try adding a small can of mushrooms or a handful of fresh. We call it rice pilaf. Thank you for sharing this! I’m so eager to try it in my instant pot!
