Have you tried Crack Chicken? If not, I have both an Instant Pot Crack Chicken and Slow Cooker Crack Chicken on my blog that you simply MUST try! It is a creamy, cheesy, ranch seasoned chicken recipe perfect for serving in wraps, sandwiches, sliders, or simply on it’s own! This chicken pinwheels recipe takes the classic crack chicken recipe and turns it into an appetizer, snack, game day, or on the go option using flour tortillas.

a creamy, cheesy chicken mixture wrapped inside flour tortillas and sliced for bite sized.

Ingredients Needed to make Easy Crack Chicken Pinwheels

Below is a brief overview of each ingredient needed to make this recipe for chicken pinwheels. To see printable recipe card with exact amounts, scroll to the bottom of this post.

    • Cream Cheese– you’ll need one package cream cheese, soften before using so it spreads over the tortillas easily.
    • Ranch Seasoning Mix– any brand of Ranch seasoning works, I love using Hidden Valley.
    • Cheese– you’ll need shredded Cheddar cheese, freshly shredded is best versus the pre-shredded bags.
    • Bacon– cooked and crumbled. To save time, you can also use bacon bits.
    • Green Onions– freshly chopped, adds lots of flavor.
    • Chicken– you’ll need cooked and shredded or chopped chicken for this recipe. For an added shortcut, you can use Rotisserie chicken or canned chicken.
    • Tortillas– look for the burrito sized tortillas as they are large enough to roll and slice into the pinwheels.
all the ingredients needed to make chicken bacon ranch roll ups.

How to make this Crack Chicken Pinwheels Recipe

    1. In a large mixing bowl, use a fork to smash the softened cream cheese around the bottom of your bowl.
    2. Add in the ranch seasoning mix, shredded cheese, bacon, green onions, and shredded chicken. Fold the ingredients together until well combined.
    3. Take the large flour tortillas and spread ¼ of the chicken mixture evenly onto each one. Leave about 1 inch around the edge of the tortillas.
    4. Carefully roll the tortillas tightly and place onto a plate. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least one hour.
    5. Slice into 1 ½ inch slices on a cutting board and serve! Enjoy!

Variations of this Chicken Pinwheel Recipe

    • Flavored tortillas- for more flavor, feel free to use any flavor tortilla. We have used spinach tortillas and they are delicious.
    • When serving, if you’re a Ranch lover, you can serve these roll up’s with some Ranch dressing to dip them into.
    • If you prefer enjoying as a main dish, simply cut the tortillas into two pieces per tortilla roll and serve as a chicken bacon wrap.
    • For added flavor, feel free to use half the cream cheese and add in ½ cup mayonnaise in it’s place. It would end up being ½ cup mayonnaise with 4 ounces cream cheese.
    • If you want to serve these crispy and warn, you can place in the air fryer. Spritz them with a little oil and place in air fryer at 370 degrees for about 5 minutes. This should get them warm, melty, and add a slight crispness to them.

How to store these easy chicken pinwheels

    • Keep leftover pinwheels in an airtight storage container or bag in your refrigerator up to 4 days. Unfortunately, they do not freeze well due to the cream cheese, so it is not recommended.
    • To make in advance, you can prepare these cracked chicken pinwheels up to 2 days in advance and store in fridge until ready to serve.
