Melt in Your Mouth Chicken
One of my most popular recipes on the blog is my Melt in Your Mouth Chicken. In fact, since posting the original recipe, I have also continued to enhance it through different variations such as making it a casserole or adding in a bit of extra toppings.
This Creamy Caesar Chicken is very similar to my Melt in Your Mouth Chicken, only it uses Caesar dressing in lieu of the mayonnaise or Greek yogurt. Either recipe, you can’t go wrong! The end result is a tender, juicy chicken breast with an incredibly creamy topping that will have you digging in and scraping your plate clean.

Ingredients needed for Baked Caesar Chicken
See full recipe card at bottom of post for exact amounts and directions.
- Chicken- boneless, skinless
- Caesar Dressing- I love the “Ken’s Steak House” brand of Caesar, but feel free to use any type desired, see paragraph below for more ideas
- Black Pepper- enhances the flavoring and offsets the salty flavoring in the dressing
- Cheese- I use grated Parmesan in ours, however, feel free to use shredded, OR Mozzarella cheese works too
How to make Creamy Caesar Chicken
Follow these simple directions to make this flavor packed chicken recipe!
- Place chicken in greased baking dish.
- Season chicken with pepper.
- Pour dressing over chicken, followed by cheese.
- Place baking dish into preheated oven, 375 degrees, and bake 30-40 minutes, or until cooked through.
- Remove from oven and allow chicken to rest for a few minutes before serving.
Caesar Dressing
I get lots of questions asking which Caesar dressing to use since there are SO many out there. My family has tried about 20 different varieties over the years, and we keep going back to the Ken’s Steakhouse Creamy Caesar due to its roasted garlic addition. Another FAVORITE in our family is one we found on Amazon called Yo Mama’s Caesar Dressing. I really like that one too because its low carb, low sodium, and Keto!!
As long as the Caesar is creamy, you really can’t go wrong, so grab your favorite and give it a try!
Tips for making the BEST Caesar Chicken
- Ensure Chicken Breasts are all same size/thickness- you want to make sure the chicken cooks evenly, if breasts are different thickness, pound with mallet until uniformed.
- Don’t add any additional salt to the chicken- typically you want to salt your chicken, however due to the salt in the dressing, you’ll make it too salty if you add additional.
- Be sure not to overbake- use a meat thermometer to ensure doneness, chicken should reach a temperature of 160 degrees F.
- Make sure the Caesar dressing is creamy and not chunky or oil based (typically found in light versions)- creamy coats the chicken easier and doesn’t slide off the chicken
Serving Suggestions
This Chicken is one of the simplest recipes to pair with sides. You can’t go wrong! Here are some great options!
Rice: Whether you choose to make a basic white rice to pair with this, or try my French Onion Rice (also known as “stick of butter rice”)
Vegetables: Roasted veggies are a fav in my house. You can roast broccoli, cauliflower, or try my Roasted Brussel Sprouts
Bread: My hubby LOVES a bread item with all of our dinners. Anything from Hawaiian Rolls, to crescents, or even my Mini Garlic Monkey Bread
Frequently Asked Questions
How can I make this spicy? Do you like a little kick? Add in 1/2-1 teaspoon red pepper flakes on top of the chicken breasts before baking!
Can I freeze this meal? Yes! You can prepare as directed and freeze just before cooking, OR freeze the leftovers (once cooked).
Can I use other cuts of chicken such as thighs, drumsticks, or tenderloins? Yes! Other cuts of chicken can most definitely be used in this recipe. I recommend only using cuts that are boneless and skinless for the best results. Also, due to cuts being different sizes and thicknesses, it can cause the cook time to change.
How do I make this recipe gluten free? In order to ensure this is gluten free, you would want to make a homemade Caesar dressing to control the ingredients that go into it!
How to store Baked Caesar Chicken
- You can prepare this dish up to 2 days beforehand and simply cover pan with plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator. When ready to cook, remove from refrigerator, remove plastic wrap, and place in oven. You’ll want to add a few minutes to the cook time as the pan will be chilled.
- To freeze BEFORE cooking, prepare as directed but cover with plastic wrap and foil just before needing to cook. Place in freezer for up to 3 months.
- To freeze leftovers, place chicken in freezer safe container for up to 3 months in freezer. To reheat, place in microwave and heat in 30 second increments until desired temperature is reached.
- Leftovers can also be stored in airtight container in refrigerator for up to 4-5 days.

Hi Kristin,
This looks yummy! Do you have a preferred Caesar dressing you use? I’ve been unsuccessful in finding one I like.
Thanks,
