    Tropical Island Cocktail

With the sun finally coming out and the weather improving, it makes me feel like summer will be here in no time!!

Last weekend, my hubby and I decided to make this Tropical Dream to enjoy one evening, and let me tell you, this drink tastes just like something you would drink on a tropical vacation!! It was incredibly tasty and simple to make! Using only 3 ingredients, this recipe is a breeze!! Of course, please drink responsibly.

    Ingredients Needed:

    • Malibu Rum- this coconut infused rum gives the tropical feel to the drink
    • Blue Curaco- this blue tinted liqueur is sweet in taste and gives the drink its famous blue color
    • Pineapple Juice- such a tropical, fresh flavored juice

*See recipe card below for exact measurements

    How to prepare:

    1. Fill a 10 oz glass with ice.
    2. Pour in the Malibu Rum and Blue Curaco.
    3. Next, add in the pineapple juice. *You can add more or less juice to desired taste.
    4. Stir and enjoy!!

    What is Blue Curaco?

Blue Curaco is a popular liqueur used in numerous drinks such as the Blue Lagoon. Its flavor comes from the peel of the Laraha citrus fruit (which has been dried) and is grown on the island of Curaçao, hence the name.

The blue color in the liqueur comes from food coloring which is added to give it its distinctive coloring. It is similar to Triple Sec in that it is citrus flavored

Garnish options for this Tropical Dream Cocktail

We tend to keep this simple and use a pineapple wedge on the side of our glasses. I am a fan of using fresh pineapple juice in this recipe, so we already have the pineapple on hand! A few other great options are paper umbrellas and/or maraschino cherries! So many great options!
