Ingredient Notes for Red White, and Blue Slushies

See printable recipe card at the bottom of this post for exact ingredient amounts and step by step directions.

    • Hawaiian Punch– you will need both blue and red.
    • Gatorade– I use cherry glacier flavor, however, any clear flavor works great too.
    • Ice– you’ll need about 6 cups of ice cubes for these slushies.
    • Cherries– maraschino cherries will be used as garnish, optional, but highly recommended.

all the ingredients needed to make a kid friendly frozen drink.

How to make 4th of July Slushies

    1. Gather 2 large freezer safe containers. Set aside.
    2. In a blender, combine 2 cups of the ice and 1 cup of the blue Hawaiian punch.
    3. Blend until smooth, adding additional blue punch if needed for desired consistency.
    4. Pour the blended mixture into one of the container and place in the freezer.
    5. Add 2 more cups of ice to the blender and pour in the red Hawaiian punch repeating process like you did with the blue.
    6. Once smooth consistency, pour mixture into other container and place in freezer.
    7. Repeat process for the Gatorade flavor adding an another 2 cups ice to the blender with the 1 cup Gatorade.
    8. To assemble the slushies, fill a glass with ⅓ blue slushy mixture, followed with ⅓ white slush mixture, and ending with ⅓ red mixture.
    9. Top with a maraschino cherry and serve immediately! Enjoy!

step by step on how to make red, white, and blue slushies.

Tips for the perfect Patriotic Drinks

    • Use a high speed blender on low. Always start the mixture on low until mostly combined. If you immediately start the blender on high, you run the risk of making these runny. Start low and gradually increase until consistency is reached.
    • Serve these kid-friendly slushies immediately so they don’t begin to melt. You can store them in the freezer to keep them frozen longer.
    • For an added garnish, feel free to use fresh strawberries and blueberries on top along with some whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
    • Avoid assembling until ready to serve as you don’t want the red, white, and blue layers to blend into each other.

How to make Red, White, and Blue Smirnoff Cocktails

To make these slushies an adult treat, you can change the Hawaiian punch to lemonade and Smirnoff berry. You will blend and store the mixtures as directed above, assembling just before serving.

    Blue Slushie Layer

    • 2 cups ice
    • 2 ounces Blue Curacao
    • 1 cup lemonade

    White Slushie Layer

    • 2 cups ice
    • 2 ounces Smirnoff Red White and Berry
    • 1 cup lemonade

    Red Slushie Layer

    • 2 cups ice
    • 2 ounces Smirnoff Red White and Berry
    • 1 cup RED Hawaiian punch

How to store Red White and Blue Frozen Drinks

    • You will want to store these in the freezer until ready to serve. Do not keep in the fridge as they will melt and won’t assemble into pretty layers.
    • If you want to prepare this ahead of time, feel free. You can keep in the freezer for up to 2 months. I prefer making the slushy mixture the day before needed so everything is fresh, but its up to you.
