vibrant colors of red, white, and blue fudge on a plate.

One of my most favorite Holidays to make dessert for is 4th of July. From my Red, White, and Blue Poke Cake, to my Patriotic Puppy Chow, Red, White, and Blue Slushies, or 4th of July Cheesecake Salad…I love all the vibrant colors, festive additions to the menu, and flavors throughout! This easy fudge recipe is one of my go to recipes when I am short on time because of how simple it is. Using white chocolate chips and marshmallow creme, this fudge is creamy and the ultimate sweet treat!

Why You’ll Love this Red White and Blue Fudge Recipe

    • Festive– this eye-catching easy dessert includes vibrant colors of red, white, and blue throughout.
    • Quick and Easy– this recipe uses only about 5 ingredients and can be prepared ahead of time.
    • A great way to get your kids involved– this fun dessert is easy enough making it a great option for letting the kids help bake!
    • Simple– this fourth of July fudge uses ingredients you may already have on hand. No corn syrup or candy thermometer needed. In fact, you don’t even need an oven for this no-bake treat.

4th of July Fudge Ingredient Notes

Here is everything you will need to make this easy white chocolate fudge with vibrant patriotic colors. Be sure to scroll down to the recipe card for the full detailed ingredient measurements and printable recipe.

    • Sugar– this gives the fudge its sweetness. White granulated sugar is all you need.
    • Butter– I use unsalted butter for this recipe, however, salted butter works great too. Avoid using margarine.
    • Marshmallow Creme– any brand works, I typically use Jet Puffed Marshmallow Creme aka fluff.
    • Evaporated Milk– this gives the fudge its creamy consistency, you can find this in the baking aisle of your local grocery store.
    • White Chocolate Chips– be sure to use a high quality as this will yield in a richer, more flavorful fudge.
    • Food Coloring– you will need a few drop of red food coloring and blue food coloring. You want to make sure that you are using gel food coloring or oil-based food coloring to make sure that the white fudge stays smooth.
    • Sprinkles– have fun with these and  use red, blue, or white sprinkles, stars, and more!
all the ingredients needed to make 4th of July fudge.

How to make Patriotic Red White and Blue Fudge

    1. Using a 9×9 baking pan, line it with parchment paper and spray it with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside. Set out 3 medium sized bowls to the side.
    2. In a large saucepan, add the sugar, butter, and evaporated milk. Cook on medium heat, stirring occasionally.
    3. Once it becomes a boil, lightly boil for 5 minutes and stir constantly. Turn off the heat. Now this next step you need to work pretty fast. Add the marshmallow creme and white chocolate chips, stir until everything is combined and smooth.
    4. Divide the mixture into the three bowls you set out. Add red food coloring to one and mix for the red layer, add blue coloring to the other bowl and mix. Leave one bowl white for the white layer. Pour the blue mixture to the prepared baking dish, spread out evenly, add the white on top and spread out evenly, add the red on top and spread. If you want to top with sprinkles do it immediately after you spread the red fudge on top.
    5. Let the fudge cool in the fridge for about 1 hour before slicing. Enjoy!
step by step on how to make 4th of July fudge.

Tips and Tricks for this Patriotic Fudge Recipe

    • Ensure that the baking pan is on a flat surface in your fridge while its setting up so everything is in an even layer. You don’t want it thicker in one area and thinner in another.
    • You can use blue candy melts and red candy melts in place of the white chocolate chips and food coloring if desired. About one cup candy melts will work for each layer.
    • Make sure you have all the bowls and ingredients ready to go before starting this recipe as the fudge sets up quickly. Have your bowls out and in place, ingredients measured, etc.
    • When slicing, I like to cut these into really small pieces, about 30 pieces. This allows everyone plenty when serving.
    • If you don’t have evaporated milk on hand, you can also use sweetened condensed milk at a 1:1 ratio.
    • You can use a knife to create a marbled effect if desired.

How to store 4th of July Fudge

    • You can store this fudge in the fridge for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container. Enjoy it chilled or at room temperature depending on your preference.
    • You can also choose to freeze it whole wrapped in the pan or freeze it sliced in an airtight container or freezer bag for up to 3 months. Thaw before serving.
