Ingredient Notes
See printable recipe card below for exact ingredient amounts and directions.

- Lean Ground Beef: I recommend using lean ground beef since it creates less grease and keeps cleanup easier.
- Chili Beans: These add texture and make the chili extra hearty. If you can’t find chili beans, substitute a can of red kidney beans.
- Rotel: Adds flavor and a little kick. Use mild or original depending on your preference.
- Taco Seasoning: Gives the chili its Tex-Mex flavor. I use my Homemade Taco Seasoning, but you can use your favorite store-bought packet if preferred.
- Fritos Corn Chips: Add just before serving so they stay crunchy.
Easy Ways to Change It Up
- Make it spicy: Add diced jalapenos, hot sauce, or use hot Rotel for a little extra heat.
- Swap the protein: Ground turkey works well in place of the ground beef.
- Customize it: Use black beans or kidney beans in place of chili beans, swap the cheddar cheese for pepper jack or a Mexican cheese blend, or serve the chili in individual bags of Fritos for a fun Walking Taco-style meal.
