Simple Chicken Gravy

I posted earlier that I had found an amazing sale on whole chickens at my local grocery store last week. Since I decided to make the chicken in my slow cooker for dinner one night, I decided to use my favorite chicken gravy recipe to go with it. Not only is it so simple to make, but it is packed with flavor and most of the ingredients are ones you already have on hand. I typically buy organic chicken broth to make things easy, however, I am going to be making my own soon, so stay tuned for that recipe to make this even better!!! Enjoy!

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 5 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

  1. Melt the butter over medium heat in a saucepan.
  2. Add flour and blend thoroughly.
  3. Slowly add in the broth, salt, and pepper.
  4. Allow to simmer until mixture thickens.
  5. Serve!

I just made this! We have a big family so I had to multiply 4x. I used Sweet Cream Butter (salted)…. and cut the salt and pepper in half! It turned out perfect! Thank you for sharing such an easy gravy recipe 🙂

Used today for proportions for chicken pot pie gravy. Perfect – I omitted the salt because chicken broth is so salty. Hard to beat.
