These Valentines Day Pretzels come together using only 3 ingredients! A salty sweet combination perfect for giving away as gifts, parties, or snacking!

an up close look at valentine pretzel hugs.

    Valentine Pretzel Treats

If you’re looking for a festive way to celebrate Valentine’s Day, look no further than these salty and sweet chocolate covered pretzels. A crunchy, salty pretzel topped with a creamy Hershey kiss and chocolate M & M, how can you go wrong? Not only are they quick and easy to prepare, but they are perfect for just about any Holiday. Simply change up the color of the M & M’s to fit the occasion!

Why You’ll Love these Valentines Day Pretzels

    • Makes the perfect gift– simply allow to fully cool and place in a tin or cellophane bag for a great gift to share
    • Easily customizable for any occasion or Holiday– change up the Hershey kiss flavor and/or M & M color and you are set for any special day
    • Quick to prepare– these pretzels are prepped and baked in less than 10 minutes, have the kids help you in the kitchen
    • Perfect for any salty sweet craving– next time that sweet tooth craving hits, make these tasty treats and satisfy it in no time

Ingredients Needed to make these Valentine’s Day Pretzel Treats

See printable recipe card below for exact ingredient amounts and step by step directions.

    • Pretzels– any type works. I prefer using the Mini pretzel Twists because I like their shape for the Hershey kisses, however, if you are lucky enough to find circles, those are great too. Square pretzels are a great option too.
    • Hershey Kisses– I use classic milk chocolate kisses, however, Hugs or any flavor work great too. Peppermint kisses are a great option at Christmas. If you want a creamier chocolate, Dove chocolate hearts are great for the Valentine theme being that they are heart shaped.
    • M & M’s– grab your favorite flavor and make these festive. I use Cupid’s mix during Valentines Day as they are pink, red, and white.
all the ingredients needed to make valentine pretzels.

Variations of Chocolate Valentine Pretzel Bites

    • Make a pretzel sandwich by adding an additional pretzel on top of the melted Hershey kiss in place of the M & M candy.
    • Use a Rolo candy in place of the kiss for a caramel addition.
    • In place of the M & M, use a toasted pecan, walnut, or favorite nut.
    • Use Dove Hearts in place of Hershey Kisses.
    • Change up the flavor of the Hershey Kiss and use Hugs, Red Velvet, White Chocolate, Peppermint, etc.
    • Reese Pieces work great in place of the M & M’s.
    • Add colorful sprinkles to the melted chocolate.

How to make Valentines Day Pretzels

    1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees F and line a baking tray with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
    2. Lay out the pretzels on the baking sheet in a single layer.
    3. Place an unwrapped Hershey kiss or Dove chocolate heart on top of each pretzel.
    4. Place the cookie sheet into the oven for about 5 minutes, or until shiny and soft.
    5. Remove from the oven and push an M & M candy into the center of each Hershey kiss.
    6. Place the tray into the refrigerator to firm back up for about 10-15 minutes. Enjoy!

How to store Chocolate Valentine Pretzels

    • Make sure these pretzel treats are fully cooled before storing.
    • Store in an airtight container at room temperature up to 7 days.
    • If storing in the refrigerator, place in airtight container up to 2 weeks. These can also be frozen up to 2 months. Be sure to thaw before serving as the kiss gets quite hard when frozen.
    • To give away as a gift, place treats into a glass jar decorated with ribbon, or a cute cellophane bag!

Tips for the best Valentines Day Pretzels

    • Don’t over bake the chocolate. You want the Hershey kiss shiny and soft, but not fully melted. Keep an eye on them as they bake since every oven is different.
    • Allow the pretzels to fully cool before storing to prevent them from tasting stale.
    • I like to press the labelled side of the M & M into the chocolate so only the colored side shows on the chocolate. Keeps it festive.
    • Work quickly to press the M & M into the melted chocolate as you don’t want it to reharden.
    • Line your cookie sheet with parchment paper, aluminum foil, or a silicone mat to make clean up a breeze.
