Cozy, spiced, and creamy, this Gingerbread White Russian is the ultimate Christmas season cocktail! Perfect for holiday parties, fireside sipping, or a sneaky 'mom treat' after bedtime. Smooth vodka, Kahlua, and homemade gingerbread syrup come together in a drink that tastes like Christmas in a glass.

I love making seasonal spins on the classic White Russian like my Salted Caramel White Russian and Peppermint White Russian, but this gingerbread version is hands-down my favorite for December. Pair it with Christmas cookies like my Chocolate Crinkle Cookies or Christmas Kitchen Sink Cookies for the ultimate festive treat.

Ingredient Notes
See the recipe card below for exact measurements.

- Vodka - Regular vodka works, but vanilla vodka makes the gingerbread flavor pop.
- Kahlua - Classic choice for a White Russian. Swap in cold brewed coffee or espresso for a lighter alcohol option.
- Homemade Gingerbread Syrup - Water, sugar, molasses, cinnamon, nutmeg, quick and budget-friendly.
- Cream - Heavy cream makes it perfectly creamy, but half-and-half or whole milk work too.
- Corn syrup + brown sugar - For that sparkly sugar rim.
- Ice - To chill the cocktail while shaking.
How to Make a Gingerbread White Russian

Step 1. Dip the rim into a shallow plate of corn syrup. Press into brown sugar. (Instant holiday sparkle!)

Step 2. Make Gingerbread Syrup. Combine 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, 2 tablespoon molasses, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and ¼ teaspoon nutmeg in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then simmer 8-10 minutes until slightly thickened. Cool completely. Store leftovers in the fridge up to 2 weeks.

Step 3. Add ice and vodka to your cocktail shaker.

Step 4. Pour in the cream.

Step 5. Add in the gingerbread syrup. Shake well to combine and chill.

Step 6. Pour strained drink into prepared glass. Slowly pour the Kahlua down the side of the drink and serve garnished with cookies, cinnamon sticks, or enjoy as is.
