Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with this Boozy Shamrock Shake! An adult milkshake spiked with Bailey’s and packed with flavor!

a shamrock shake copycat recipe with a boozy addition

Have you had a McDonald’s Shamrock Shake? Growing up, those shakes were one of my favorite seasonal treats because I LOVE mint ice-cream!

Fast forward several years into adulthood, I still love those shakes, however, more times than not, my local McDonald’s has a broken ice-cream machine, therefore, not serving them. Such a bummer, right?!

Since I grew tired of never being able to order one, I decided to try my hand at making an “at home” version. Since adding a boozy twist on things always seems like a good idea (ha-ha), I opted to use some Bailey’s in lieu of milk.

This Boozy Shamrock Shake comes together easily and is a great St. Patrick’s Day treat! Creamy, flavorful, and ready to sip on in only 5 minutes!

Bailey's, ice-cream, mint extract, and green coloring combined into a tasty St Patrick's Day milkshake for adults

End result?? FANTASTIC!! As in, goodbye ordering shakes at McDonalds and hello to enjoying them in the comfort of my home!

There are a few variations you can use when making these, based on what you have on hand and what you prefer!

If you want to use vanilla ice-cream, add in the mint extract and food coloring, that is one option.

The other option is to go even more shortcut and use mint ice-cream, adding in a bit of food coloring to enhance the green (optional).

Whichever route you go, this Boozy Shamrock Shake will be incredible and the perfect way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!

Add some whipped cream on top, perhaps some festive sprinkles, and a cherry on top! *I would’ve opted to use a cherry had my son not helped himself to them all before making these, lol!

Ingredients Needed for these easy Boozy Shamrock Shakes:

    Vanilla Ice-Cream

    Bailey’s Irish Cream

    Mint Extract

    Green Food Coloring

    Chocolate Chips (optional)

    Whipped Topping/Sprinkles/Cherries (optional)

    Directions:

Combine the ice-cream, Bailey’s, mint extract, food coloring, and chocolate chips (if using) in a blender.

    Blend until smooth and creamy.

Pour into two glasses and top with whipped cream, sprinkles, and/or a cherry!

Have a wonderful St Patrick’s Day!
