Strawberry Oatmeal Smoothie

January 30, 2014 by Kristin Leave a Comment

Lately, I have been making TONS of new smoothies. Each afternoon, when my oldest kiddo gets home from school, I make all 3 kids an afternoon smoothie. Since my oldest gets home around 4 pm and we eat dinner around 5, its a nice way to keep them full until dinner, without loading them up with sugar or other processed foods. I also try to make myself a smoothie in the mornings for my “on the go breakfast”. Yesterday, I threw this one together in no time and it kept me satisfied until lunch. I made it again for my kids that afternoon and they all loved it. They said it tastes just like a strawberry milkshake!

I use a Vitamix, but any blender will work, you may just need to adjust blending times. If you are in the market for a Vitamix, use the code below to receive free shipping on your purchase. My Vitamix is by far my favorite kitchen appliance, so I highly recommend the investment if you can!

1 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup Vanilla yogurt (I used Greek)
3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (or any milk you prefer)
1/2 cup old fashioned oats, uncooked

Directions:

Place all ingredients into the blender and place lid on top. Blend on high for about 30-45 seconds, or until smooth and creamy. Enjoy!
