Are you a Cajun fan? Honestly, I never really was until we moved to Houston. Being that Louisiana is so close, Cajun food seems to be more common around here and I have fallen in love with the flavors!

Now, you are probably reading this recipe thinking “that isn’t Cajun” and I would have to agree. But, since it calls for Cajun seasoning, I included it in title and did mention “shortcut”, ha-ha!

Cajun Sausage Alfredo is a cheap weeknight dinner. It’s quick and easy to make. It only takes about 20 minutes, doesn’t take a ton of fancy ingredients, and it tastes amazing!

The great thing about this dish is that you can use more spice and give it a great kick, or scale it back and keep it mild. If you want to make your own homemade Alfredo and not use a shortcut, that is a great option as well! Have fun with it and change it up to fit your desires!

    Frequently asked questions:

What is your favorite Cajun seasoning? Good question! It is hard to pick one, but my favorites would definitely have to be Sola Cajun Seasoning, Slap Ya Mama, Cajun Nation Seasoning, and Chupacabra Cajun Blend. You can’t go wrong with any of those!

What should I use if I don’t like smoked sausage? No worries! You can use shrimp or chicken in place of the sausage. I would use about 1 lb of either!

Can I freeze this? Typically, I would say yes, but unfortunately, the pasta tends to absorb the sauce and when you reheat it from being frozen, it changes the texture and gets rather “gummy” like. You can store it in an airtight container for up to 4 days, but I don’t recommend freezing.

How do I make this spicier? One sure way to increase the heat is to add more Cajun seasoning. You can also add in a few splashes of hot sauce to really kick up the heat! If you like things mild, decrease seasoning and taste as you go to ensure it won’t be too spicy!

Can I use something other than spinach in this? Sure! You can omit altogether or add in some broccoli!

What brand Alfredo do you recommend? If you follow the blog, you know I love a good shortcut. One of my go-to Alfredo sauces from the store is Bertolli Garlic Alfredo Sauce. Of course, any type will work, including homemade, so use your favorite!

What type of pasta do you recommend? I tend to use Rotini noodles because my kids love them, however, bowtie, Penne, shells, linguine, etc. all are great options as well.
