Years ago, after I made my first trifle…I was HOOKED! I went on a trifle making spree and made several new flavors. You can check out my collection HERE!

Being the chocolate lover that I am, this one is most definitely my favorite! It is LOADED with all sorts of chocolate and if its missing a favorite chocolate candy of yours, simply add it in! You can have fun with this and make it your own!

The great thing about trifles is that you have so many options and varieties! Plus, they feed lots of people and make a great dessert option for parties and having people over!

If you have a sweet tooth craving, look no further! You can make this Death by Chocolate Trifle the night before and let it refrigerate until ready to enjoy!

The fudge like brownie pieces, cool whip layers, chocolate pudding layers, and candy pieces throughout come together in a dessert you’ll be mouthwatering over!

Enjoy and be sure to let me know what you think! Also, come connect with me on Instagram HERE as I am always posting recipes, tips, giveaways, and more!

Looks amazing but there is no way there are only 224 calories in 1/12 of the recipe. There would be about that many calories in the cake alone before you start heaping all the candy into it.

There are actually way more servings in this then 12, but that is just the general guess. The nutrition calculator can be off, but typically it gives you a ball park idea!

Can you make this gluten free? My granddaughter has celiac disease.

Absolutely! You would use gluten free cake mix, whipped cream is gluten free, and just make sure what you’re putting in is gluten free. The main change would be using a gluten free cake, but they have mixes that are labelled! Enjoy!

I use a brownie mix when I make this desert with sugar-free pudding and fat-free cool whip. Helps with the calories but still can have a smaller serving and not feel guilty. It’s wonderful !!!!

You could use pudding? I’m hesitant on ice cream, unless you keep it frozen up until you eat it. Ice cream may make the cake a bit mushy, but the flavor would be good. If you keep the trifle frozen, it should work. Otherwise, try subbing pudding 🙂

Yes, homemade works perfectly in its place, you may want to add a touch of sugar since cool whip is quite sweet! Keep refrigerated since there are no preservatives in the homemade version 🙂
