Instructions
Bake the Cake
Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to the package directions and bake in a 9×13-inch baking dish. Remove from the oven and let cool for about 10 minutes.
Add the Hot Fudge
Using the end of a spoon, poke holes all over the cake. Warm the hot fudge until pourable, then drizzle it over the cake so it seeps into the holes. Let the cake cool completely.
Add the First Pudding Layer
In a large bowl, whisk the chocolate pudding mix with the milk until smooth. Before it fully sets, pour the pudding evenly over the cooled cake. Refrigerate for about 20 minutes.
Make the Topping
In another bowl, whisk the remaining pudding mix with milk and refrigerate for about 10 minutes until slightly thickened. Fold in the thawed Cool Whip.
Add the Oreos
Stir about ¾ of the crushed Oreos into the pudding mixture.
Assemble the Cake
Spread the pudding mixture evenly over the cake. Sprinkle the remaining crushed Oreos over the top. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
For the best flavor and texture, chill the dessert for at least 2 hours before serving.
Add the crushed Oreos on top just before serving to keep them crisp.
You can substitute homemade chocolate cake if preferred.
Decorate with gummy worms, candy bugs, or Peeps for a fun presentation.
