This Easy Beer Bread Recipe uses just 6 simple ingredients to make a soft, buttery quick bread with a golden brown crust and no added yeast or kneading.
Prep: Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a loaf pan.
Combine dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
Add beer: Pour in the beer and stir until just combined. The batter will be thick. Be careful not to over-mix.
Transfer: Spread the batter evenly into the prepared loaf pan.
Add butter: Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top of the batter.
Bake: Place in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.
Cool: Allow to cool for a few minutes before removing from the loaf pan. Slice and enjoy!
Notes
Beer: A light beer or lager gives the bread a milder flavor, while a darker beer gives it a stronger flavor. Use your favorite beer since some of the taste will come through.
Sugar: For a less sweet bread, reduce the sugar by 1 tablespoon.
Don't over-mix: Stir the batter only until combined to keep the finished bread soft and tender.
Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days. For longer storage, wrap individual slices in plastic wrap, place in a freezer bag, and freeze for up to 3 months.
