Preheat oven to 350
Combine the mayonnaise, sugar, and hot water in a small bowl
In a separate bowl, sift together the salt, cocoa powder, flour and baking soda
Add the mayonnaise mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until combined
Add in vanilla extract
Pour batter into greased muffin cups, or a greased cake pan (if making a cake)
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean (increase time to 35-40 minutes for a cake)
Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before frosting. Enjoy!
