Ingredients

Fried Chicken

  • 4 chicken breasts *boneless, skinless
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

Gravy

  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 cups evaporated milk
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  • Heat oil on medium high heat. *I highly suggest a cast iron skillet for this recipe, but any skillet will work for this!!
  • Pound each chicken breast lightly to tenderize and flatten.
  • Combine the flour, salt, pepper, and garlic in a flat dish.
  • In a separate dish, combine the eggs and water.
  • Lightly coat each chicken breast in the flour mixture, then the egg mixture, and back into the flour mixture.
  • Repeat process until all chicken is coated.
  • Working in batches of two breasts each, place chicken into heated oil and fry for about 8 minutes, or until chicken is golden brown and juices run clear.
  • Set cooked chicken aside on some paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
  • To make gravy, using the same skillet with leftover drippings from chicken, add in the flour and stir until bubbly and brown.
  • Add in remaining ingredients and whisk until smooth and combined.
  • Allow to simmer until thickened!
  • Pour gravy over chicken prior to serving and enjoy!!
