Dark Chocolate Mousse Brownies

These Dark Chocolate Mousse Brownies are creamy, chocolatey, and quite addictive! The flavor packed combination will have you wanting to make these over and over again!

Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate brownie mix + ingredients needed on box *or homemade brownies
  • 10 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon unflavored gelatin
  • 2 tablespoon water

Instructions

  • Prepare box of brownies (or homemade recipe) as directed on box.

Mousse Layer:

  • Place the chopped dark chocolate in a bowl.
  • In a small dish, combine the gelatin with the water. Set aside.
  • Bring 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream to a boil over medium heat.
  • Pour the heavy whipping cream over the chopped chocolate, stirring until smooth and chocolate has melted.
  • Heat the softened gelatin mixture over low heat (you can use same saucepan the heavy whipping cream was in) until gelatin has dissolved.
  • Pour gelatin mixture into melted chocolate mixture.
  • Whip the remaining 1 cup until soft peaks form.
  • Add about 1/2 the whipped cream mixture to the chocolate mixture and stir until just combined.
  • Add remaining 1/2 of whipped cream mixture and stir until just combined.
  • Spread mousse mixture over cooled brownie and place in refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours.
  • Serve and enjoy! *We grated white chocolate over ours, that is optional
