  • Preheat oven to 475 degrees.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add the butter pieces into the flour mixture and cut it in using a pastry knife (or two forks) until it has a coarse meal consistency.
  • Pour in the buttermilk and stir until just combined.
  • Place dough onto a floured surface and using your hands, gently pat out dough until its about 1 inch thick. *You may need additional flour on hands/surface to avoid sticking
  • Use a round cutter and place cut out biscuits into your cast iron skillet or onto a baking tray.
  • Place pan/tray into preheated oven and bake for about 10 minutes, or until slightly golden on top and cooked through.
  • Remove from oven and serve with gravy, jam, or honey.
