Instant Pot Chocolate Peanut Butter Lava Cakes combine two classic flavors into one delicious, mouth watering dessert!

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 cup chocolate chips, semi-sweet
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 6 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 tsp peanut butter, creamy


  1. Pour the chocolate chips and butter into a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 1 minute, stir, followed by 1 more minute.

  2. Once smooth and creamy, mix in the powdered sugar.

  3. Add in the eggs and egg yolk, stirring to combine.

  4. Pour in the vanilla and flour, stir well.

  5. Spray 4 glass containers (6 oz Pyrex bowls) with baking spray.

  6. Pour batter halfway up each bowl.

  7. Add a teaspoon of peanut butter to each bowl.

  8. Pour batter on top of the peanut butter, filling each bowl just about to the top.

  9. Pour 1 cup water onto bottom of Instant Pot and place trivet inside.

  10. Stack 3 bowls on bottom of Instant Pot, followed by 1 bowl in center on top.

  11. Place lid securely on top and ensure valve is in sealing position.

  12. Cook manual high pressure for 9 minutes, followed by a quick release.

  13. Remove from Instant Pot and turn each bowl upside down onto a plate.

  14. Serve with ice-cream, caramel, or chocolate sauce on top and enjoy immediately!
