Ingredient Notes for Easy Salted Caramel Martini’s
Below is a brief overview of each ingredient needed. To see printable recipe card with exact amounts, scroll to the bottom of this post or click the “jump to recipe” at the top of the page.
- RumChata–ย is a creamy liqueur that’s made with Caribbean rum, dairy cream, cinnamon, vanilla, and other flavorings. This is the base of the martini.
- Caramel Vodka– any brand works, you can also make your own by adding chewy caramel candies to your favorite bottle of vodka.
- Caramel Syrup– try to find salted caramel syrup as this will be the best addition of sweet and salty flavor. You can use this to drizzle inside the martini glass as well as to rim the glass. If using salted caramel syrup, omit the salt addition.
- Sea Salt– optional, but this can be used to dip into after the caramel sauce for an addition to the rim.
How to make Salted Caramel Martinis
- To rim the glass, add a bit of the caramel syrup to a saucer, and add some sea salt to another saucer.
- Dip the rim into the caramel, and then into the salt.
- If desired, drizzle additional caramel sauce on the sides of a cocktail glass and bottom of glass.
- To a cocktail shaker, add ice, Rumchata, and caramel vodka. Shake ingredients well to combine and chill.
- Pour the cocktail, strained, into the glass and serve!
Tips for this Caramel Vodka Martini
- Use caramel syrup versus caramel sauce. I have found that caramel sauce is a bit too thick.
- If using salted caramel syrup, omit the addition of salt as it will be too much. If using regular caramel syrup, the salty addition to the rim is tasty.
- If you want to prepare the glasses ahead of time, simply place them in the freezer until ready to strain and pour. This keeps the caramel in place on the glasses and prevents them from dripping and making a mess.
- To make this for large crowds, you can easily increase the ingredients and place in a pitcher. Stir before serving.

A “martini” is made with vodka or gin and dry vermouth. How is it a martini if you omit a key “martini” ingredient?
Kristin
This has vodka in it, its just flavored vodka!

How do you make your Carmel syrup
Kristin
I typically buy the caramel syrup that is sold near the chocolate syrup. I haven’t made mine in years, but once I do, I will post that recipe to the blog and link it in this recipe!

Super easy to make and absolutely smooth & delicious!!! When I make it again I plan on chilling both the vodka and Rumchata beforehand.

This drink is super easy to make and it’s SO delicious! This makes a wonderful dessert drink for fall and winter. This would also be great for a “Girls Night In”.
I noticed someone said (I know two years ago) that this recipe is shockingly similar to the on on Tipsy Bartender, and wanted to know who made it first? Well tipsy bartender is using your photos, so I’d say they got the recipe from right here.
Kristin
Yea!! So glad you enjoyed this and I love the idea of making this for a Girls Night In! Good thinking!!

Martinis can be a bit strong for me so I turned this into a cocktail by adding a splash of half and half to it. Then you can have more than one!๐
Kristin
Oooo I like your thinking! Sounds just as tasty and TWO?? Yes please!!!
Sam
Shockingly similar to “Tipsy Bartender’s” recipe.
Who made it first?
Kristin
Good question, I am not sure! I received the recipe from a friend at a dinner party. He made us these and we loved them!
Shirley
Salted?
Kristin
Good catch, thanks! Sorry I forgot the “salted” step, haha! I have corrected recipe! Thanks again!!
