My kids love to enjoy this with a small cup of marinara sauce on the side. With each bite they take, they dip their pieces into the sauce and have a sauced, pizza bite that is packed with flavor! Does this have to be hot to eat or can you eat it cold? Thinking of making it and taking it a potluck for church sometimes. Otherwise sounds good.
Kristin
Either way works great! I love it warm from the oven, however, my kids LOVE their leftovers the next day at lunch enjoyed cold! Enjoy!!
Gayle
We did not care for this. Will not make again. Couldn’t taste the cheese. Only tasted the Italian seasoning. Took longer to bake than stated in recipe.
Kristin
Bummer to hear this! You can always play around with amounts of seasonings and add in’s. Last week, I made this with hot sausage, Gouda cheese, and peppers, and it was delicious!
Momma Dee
If you do not like. the way it tasted reduce. the Italian seasoning and add more cheese to the recipe I personally saute some onion green pepper and ground beef. and add this instead of the pepperoni to the recipe and I add Add 1/2 a cup of Parmesan cheese to the recipe and increase the garlic powder to two teaspoons. Amazing.
Kristin
Yay! Glad to hear you enjoy! So many different ways you can make this your own, we love this meal in my house!
Cheryl
I always read the nutritional information before deciding whether or not to try a new recipe. I think there is an error. How could there be 2 carbs per serving for this recipe?!?
Kristin
Good catch! I ran it through the nutrition calculator and the carbs auto set at 1 gram for the recipe. I updated and it should be about 11 grams per serving.
Mary Thomas
soooo good!
Kristin
Yay!! Glad you enjoyed it too!
Shelley
Just made this and had some. As a 66 year old woman I found thus to be out of this world. Excellent
Kristin
Yay!! Love hearing that! Glad you enjoyed!!
Sherri
This is absolutely delicious! One of our favorite recipes. We loved the browned crust. Thank you so much for sharing
Kristin
Yay!! Glad you all enjoy it as much as we do!!
Misty Brown
It tasted great but not really “pull apart” bread. I wonder what can be done so that is doesnt get the hard crust on the outside…..
Kristin
To avoid a crispier outside, you can cover with foil as this will prevent it from browning. Let me know you you think if you try it that way, its yummy and fluffy all the way through!
Brianna
Do you push the dough mixture down into the Bundt pan?? I’m wondering if maybe that’s why mine didn’t cook through in the entire inside. Maybe I pushed the biscuit dough into the pan too much?
Kristin
No, you don’t really need to push it down. You mix the ingredients and scoop them into the bundt pan. If it starts getting too brown on top, but still is squishy to the touch, you can place aluminum foil on top to finish it cooking. Let the biscuits fall into place, but no need to push down! Hope that helps!
Shirl
Could you freeze this bread before baking to use at a later date!
Kristin
Hmm, I haven’t tried that personally, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work good. The only thing I would be concerned about is the texture of the biscuit pieces, but again, given that they are already pre-packaged, it should be good!
Tuesday Morning
can you use canola oil or vegetable oil if you do not have olive oil.
Kristin
Vegetable oil works in this as well! Enjoy!
Doug
To avoid sticking, I’m just going to spray lightly with cooking spray. That should work. Also going to add a little bit, just to lightly coat the bisquit pieces, of pizza sauce and see how it comes out.
Kristin
Great idea, should work great! Hope you enjoy!! Keep me posted what you think!
Carolyn
I used pizza dough and it turned out great! I followed the directions in recipe. I actually just tore the pizza crust into little pieces which made it even easier! It didn’t stick to the pan either.
Kristin
Yay!! So glad you enjoyed!! Great idea on tearing the pieces!!
Linette
When you say to cut the biscuits into quarter sizes, do you mean cut into 4 pieces or cut to size of a quarter, as in the coin?
Kristin
Cut each biscuit into 4 pieces! Enjoy!!
Ann Fure
am GF so can’t use canned, is it ok to use regular (gf) dough instead of the canned?
Kristin
Absolutely! That should work great, just keep an eye on cooking times as I am unsure of how quick that dough bakes compared to the regular! Enjoy!
crystal
Can you use Rhoades bread rolls instead of canned biscuits?
Kristin
Sure! You’d just need to let them thaw and rise before using these in the recipe!
Marjorie E Robertson
Very tasty, however, even with liberally greasing the pan it stuck. Very very good though. I wonder if you could use homemade pizza dough rolled out and cut into pieces… Might be an idea
Kristin
I’m sure that would work great! Sorry to hear it stuck though, thats always a pain!
Stephanie
I had the same outcome as Brian🥺. I even added cook time; all sides were done, but the entire inside was uncooked. I used a stoneware Bundt pan that usually cooks hot and I have to watch for over cooking but not in this case.
One difference was I used “original” Pilsbury biscuits not Grands because the only mention of Grands was your response to a question about their use (not mentioned in the recipe).
Kristin
Such a bummer to hear that! I just made it this past weekend and didn’t have that issue 🙁
Could the biscuit pieces have been too big? The type of biscuit really shouldn’t matter as they should all bake up the same.
A trick I have heard is to cover in foil half the time as it won’t brown, but will cook through. Then remove the foil and allow the top to brown up!
So sorry to hear that happened! I will try to trouble shoot and update!
Karen
Has anyone tried using pizza dough for this recipe?
Kristin
I haven’t, but that should work great!!
Nancy
What about adding some garlic butter? Thinking about other monkey breads have cinnamon butter. I’m worried it might be dry.
Kristin
That could work, just don’t add too much to where the biscuits don’t cook in it because of too much liquid. Maybe a light drizzle? That would be great!
Cloella Jacobs
I am going to try Pizza dough , Don;t buy ready tuse produts like pillsbury dough,
Kristin
Great idea! I’m sure that will work great too!
Bryan
Followed the recipe exactly. It seemed like the dough didnh’t want to cook. I used Wies brand.
Kristin
Hmmm, I wonder if it was the brand. I have only used Pilsbury in this, but I don’t see why that would make a difference. Dough is dough, right? So sorry it didn’t turn out!
Bryan
Well, that was a disappointment. Took an hour to cook and it was still doughy in places. Too much dough and other enough anything else. I could have made a skillet pizza in less time. That recipe goes into the recycle box.
Kristin
That’s a bummer to hear! I just made this last week with no problems. Did you use everything listed and in the same pan? I wonder what happened! Sorry it was a fail!
Sandi
Are you able to use italian sausage instead?
Kristin
As long as its cooked, yep, you can definitely use Italian sausage, ham, pepperoni, or just about any meat desired!
Annie
Can I use a 8″ square pan instead?
Kristin
Absolutely! Just watch the cook time as it may vary a bit!
Karen
Looks yummy, I will definitely try this recipe. Do you think adding a little of the marinara sauce to the biscuits before baking would make it moist.
Kristin
That definitely would be a great addition! Just don’t add too much otherwise it’ll be mushy biscuits!
Kathy
Regular biscuits or Grands?
Kristin
I use Grands!! Enjoy!
Gisele
are the biscuits cooked before making this ?
Kristin
Nope, they cook after the ingredients are tossed together!
Angela palumbo
just made this! Great and fun.
Thanks angela
Kristin
So glad you enjoyed it! Its a favorite with my kids 🙂
Carolyn
This sounds so good, what else would you serve with this?
Kristin
Typically when I make this, I serve a salad of some sort with it. I count it as our “healthy” side to our “not so healthy” dinner, haha!! Fresh fruit could go with it too!!
Peg
Looks yummie can’t wait to try it!!!!!!
Kristin
Let us know how it turns out, 🙂
Jan
Hi,

Kristin

terri
Can you mix this up ahead and keep in the fridge till ready to bake?
Kristin
Sure!! You may just need to adjust the cooking time a bit since it will be cold going into the oven, 🙂

The recipe says to serve with spaghetti sauce-the pictures look like the biscuits have sauce in the pan before baking! Any way, it looks good.
Kristin and Adriana
Nope, we just served our sauce on the side! You are probably seeing the toasted cheese and pepperoni resemble the color of sauce 🙂

What are biscuit cans? Where do you buy them in Australia? Can you use something else instead of the biscuit cans? TIA
Kristin and Adriana
Biscuits here in the U.S come in a can typically from a brand called Pilsbury. In the past, I believe people have used scone mix in place of the biscuits. You can try that if you have that available. We are workijg on a homemade recipe for biscuits for those who prefer to make it from scratch rather than canned 🙂
