Bisquick Peach Cobbler
This easy peach cobbler recipe is a quick way to create an American favorite with lots of decadent flavors. It’s perfect for your weekday fix and made easy with Bisquick mix.
As I was putting it together the other night, it reminded me of a dump cake. I used peach pie filling with this recipe; however, you can use blueberries, apples, cherries, strawberries, etc. The possibilities are endless!!
If you are looking for a flavor packed sweet treat, look no further! This will have you going back for seconds!!
Why I love this recipe
- Simple – Using only 5 ingredients, this recipe is ready whenever you need a sweet treat.
- Delicious – This is the dessert of summer! What more can you ask for than sweet peaches topped with a flavor packed crisp layer and a scoop of vanilla ice cream?
- Quick – Only takes 5 minutes to assemble and is sure to impress any guest.
- So many fun variations to try – using different flavors of pie filling, additional spices such as cinnamon or nutmeg, and drizzling with caramel sauce, you can change this up to fit anyone’s tastes.
Ingredients Needed:
- Bisquick
- Peach Pie filling- or any pie filling flavor desired
- Sugar
- Butter- melted
- Pecans- chopped
*See recipe card below for exact measurements
How to make Peach Crisp:
- Grease a Bundt pan.
- Pour the peaches into the bottom of the pan.
- Sprinkle Bisquick on top of peaches.
- Sprinkle sugar on top of Bisquick.
- Pour melted butter over top of pan, making sure to coat everything entirely.
- Sprinkle nuts on top.
- Place pan into a preheated oven, 375 degrees, and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove from oven and scoop into a bowl. Serve with vanilla ice cream if desired.
Shortcut Peach Cobbler Tips
- Let the cobbler rest after baking before you serve it. If Bisquick peach cobbler is served straight out of the oven, the filling will still be runny. Let it cool about 10 minutes to thicken it.
- Experiment with filling flavors. Feel free to try peach, apple, blueberry, raspberry, or strawberry.
- Serve with ice-cream. The best combination of flavors for this crisp is the hot/cold temperature you get when the crisp is served warm and the cold ice-cream on top is included in every bite.
- Add spices to dress it up. Spices like cinnamon or nutmeg can be used to add some extra flavor to this Bisquick peach cobbler.
- Don’t over-bake the cobbler. Overcooking peach cobbler can cause it to become mushy. Set a timer on the oven while baking to make sure it doesn’t overcook.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Can I use fresh fruit in place of the pie filling? Yes, however, the pie filling adds a bit of a syrup like liquid to these and if you use fresh fruit, I recommend boiling with some sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon to create a homemade type filling!
- What other flavors can I try? The possibilities are endless! Cherry filling, blueberry, raspberry, apple, and more! Basically, if your store has a filling, it’s an option!
- Do I have to use the chopped nuts on top? Nope, if you have an allergy or just want to omit, feel free!
- Do I have to make this in a Bundt pan? No! You can also use an 8×8 baking pan, you’ll just need to adjust the time accordingly.
How to serve Peach Cobbler Crisp
This Bisquick Peach Crisp can be served on its own at room temperature or warmed up (my fav).
When serving, use a spoon to scoop into bowls and top with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream and/or drizzled caramel sauce on top.
How to store Peach Crisp
Once baked, allow to cool completely and cover pan with saran wrap. Place pan into refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. You can also place in an airtight container in lieu of the pan. When ready to serve, warm up in microwave and serve in bowls.
Store at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
Unfortunately, this crisp does NOT freeze well. The texture changes and ends up a bit gooey. Try to bake when ready to enjoy and store leftovers in refrigerator.
How to make Homemade Bisquick
Don’t have Bisquick on hand? No worries! Try this at-home version!
- Mix 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder, ¼ teaspoon salt in a mixing bowl.
- Add 1 tablespoon of butter and cut it into the flour using a pastry cutter.
- Substitute this mixture with the 1 cup of baking mix in the recipe.

you said to scoop the cake out of the pan. Can you flip the bundt pan over and the cake comes out nicely?
Kristin
Unfortunately, since this is a dump type cake, if you flip it over, it will make a mess. The bottom is filling only, so it never forms into a “cake”. It is a scoop and serve type dessert!
madlyn
To the lady who bakes on her bar b q, how long do you bake and what temp?
Nancy
This sounds delicious and will give it a try. . From what I am reading above, when you use a different ingredient for the cake and different fruits, it becomes a Dump Cake. So which ever you try out, it will be belicious. Good luck all.
Kristin
Hope you enjoy it!! 🙂
Bonnie
I too wonder about the GF Bisquick..if anyone knows or tries it, please let us know.
Kristin
It definitely would! My friend has tried it that way and it worked great!!
Sharon
i wonder if this will work with gluten free Bisquick
Kristin
Definitely!!!
Sasha
I was wondering could I substitute the pecans for something else my husband loves peach cobbler but don’t like pecans
Kristin
Does he like any other kind of nut? Such as walnuts or cashews? You could use those in place of pecans. If he doesn’t like those, then you can omit them from the recipe, it just won’t have the slight crunch to it!

I WONDER IF YOU CAN USE A CAKE MIX?
Kristin
Yep, you can! I have tried it with spice cake mix and it is just as yummy!!
Denise
This is amazing and so easy! My whole family loves it. I use apple pie filling in place of peaches. Really great recipe!
Kristin
Thanks! I am so glad you enjoyed it!!! I have used apple before too and its a favorite of mine!! Yum!!
Meleta
Would it better to use brown sugar or both?
Kristin
Oooo, I bet that would be delicious!! Use a 1/2 sugar, 1/2 brown sugar!! Yum!!
kathy dingus
I use canned peaches and add a little cornstarch, do this with canned pineapple also.
Kristin
Great idea!!! Thanks 🙂
Ashley
Could you make this in a regular like, brownie pan instead of a bundt cake?
Kristin
Sure! I would use an 8×8 for this if making it in a pan!! You may just need to adjust the baking time a bit, but it will work great still!! Enjoy!!
Sarah
What about using canned peaches in heavy or light syrup as an alternative to pie filling? Which would be better?
Kristin
I have used the peach pie filling only, however, as I was making this the other night, I looked at the pie filling and realized how similar the pie filling was to the heavy syrup canned peaches. You could definitely use the canned peaches in place of the filling. Hope that helps, keep us posted on what you try!!
kell
Is it ok without the nuts?
Kristin
Sure!! It just won’t have the same “crunch” to it, but it will still be just as yummy!! 🙂
De
If you use fresh peaches, you do NOT need to add additional liquid. Slice the peaches as if you would to make a pie and sprinkle with a little sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg then let set for just a little bit. The juice that develops from this will be more than enough liquid. I just made half a recipe this way today.
Kristin
Great tip!! Thanks for letting us know!! 🙂

Kristin

Can you use yellow or white cake mix and make it like a dump cake? Would it be the same with fresh peaches?
Kristin
I have never tried it using the cake mix, but I would assume it would be the same, 🙂
As for using fresh peaches, you would need to make some type of glaze/syrup since the pie filling has liquid in it that the fresh peaches wouldn’t have, but you could make a small amount of sugar water perhaps? I would suggest playing around with it to see what works best.
Keep us posted on what you try and how it turns out, 🙂
Tiffany
Do you add the Bisquick dry out do you mix it according to the package?
Kristin
You add it in dry, not mixed according to package 🙂
Kathleen
I did do this as a dump cake last week…I dunno what possessed me to do so seeing as it was 3 degrees cooler than hell outside.
It sure was good though.
Kristin
Hehe, I have made this in extremely warm weather too and although it heats up the house, it is definitely worth it!! So glad you enjoyed it, 🙂
