Green Smoothie

May 21, 2013 by Kristin Leave a Comment

About a month ago, my husband bought me a Vitamix. I was SO excited when it arrived, and each day, my excitement only grows more. It seriously has been the best investment we have made. It makes the yummiest smoothies, ice cream, sauces, sorbet, and more. My kids love the ice cream and smoothies, and have no idea that it literally only has fruit and veggies in it, hehe! I highly recommend getting one if you can. If you have a different blender already, the smoothie recipes I will be posting on this blog will still work, just may need a bit more blending time. Either way, you’ll love them I am sure, 🙂
*These are just my quick versions, you can tweak them how you prefer. I use ice cubes and water mostly, but you can use Almond Milk, Dairy Milk, Soy Milk, etc.

If you are in the market to purchase a Vitamix, the code below will give you free shipping (a $25 value)

Click here to purchase or research the Vitamix, use promo code 06-008620 when checking out for free shipping!!

Ingredients:

4 oz water or milk of choice
1 medium banana, peeled
1 apple, cored and sliced
4-5 Strawberries (I throw the whole thing in there, if using a different blender, you may want to remove stem)
1 handful of spinach leaves
1 handful Kale
1 carrot
1 cup ice cubes

Directions:

Throw all ingredients into blender, in order listed above. Cover blender and pulse/blend until smooth. Enjoy!!
