Italian Breadsticks

Lately, I have been trying to make all sorts of yummy new recipes in the bread machine. Last week, I asked my hubby what he wanted to have with our soup dinner, and he requested bread-sticks. Since my favorite bread-sticks are the ones from either Little Caesar’s pizza or Olive Garden, I decided to make it my mission to try to replicate them from home. These may about 12 bread-sticks and according to my family, these are better than Olive Garden’s/Little Caesar’s. Mission accomplished, hehe!!

1 cup warm water
3 tbsp butter
1 1/2 tsp salt
3 cups flour (I used all purpose)
1 tsp Italian Seasoning
1 tsp garlic powder
2 1/4 tsp yeast
2 tbsp melted butter
2 tbsp Parmesan cheese, grated

Place the water, butter, salt, flour, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder in the bread machine pan. Create a small hole in the top and carefully pour the yeast into it. Lock pan into the bread machine and turn on the dough cycle. Once dough is completed, remove from machine and divide dough into 12 sections. Roll each dough slice into a 4-6 inch rope. Place on a cookie sheet and cover with a towel. Allow to rise for about 20 minutes. Bake in a preheated oven, 350, for about 15 minutes. Once slightly golden brown, remove from oven. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter and Parmesan cheese. Brush mixture on to the tops of the bread-sticks. Serve!!
