Salmon Burgers

A few weeks ago, we were sent a new cookbook called “Alaska Style Recipes for Kids”. The cookbook promotes cooking in the kitchen with your kids, which I love to do. It is filled with all different types of seafood recipes, which my family loves. The recipe that popped out at me the most, was these salmon burgers. My family loves burgers, so I figured these would be perfect. Not only did they have tons of flavor, but my kids were able to help me add the ingredients together and “make dinner”. The looks on their faces as they announced that they had made dinner was priceless. 
Just like a classic burger, you can add any topping you desire. This healthy dinner goes together quickly and is eaten even faster. Enjoy!!


1 (14.75 oz) can pink salmon
1 egg
1/2 cup onion, diced
Salt/Pepper to taste
1/2 cup Italian Bread Crumbs
Hamburger Buns


Drain the salmon completely. In a bowl, flake the salmon with a fork and remove any fish skin/bones. Add in the egg, onion, salt, pepper, and bread crumbs. Mix together until thoroughly combined. Form mixture into 4 patties. Place the patties on a spray coated broiling pan or grill. Preheat the grill or broiler and cook about 5 minutes per side. Remove from oven and place on hamburger bun with your favorite toppings.
