Honey Oatmeal Bread

A few weeks ago, I posted my first bread machine recipe. Many of you loved it and expressed interest in seeing more recipes, so here is another favorite of my family. This honey oatmeal bread is simple to make, has a slightly sweet taste to it, and is a lightly textured bread with crispy crust. We had it paired with a cup of soup, and then I enjoyed it toasted with some jelly the next morning!

Ingredients:

1 1/2 Pound Loaf:

1 1/4 cup water
2 tbsp honey
2 tbsp butter or margarine
2 1/3 cups bread flour
1 cup old fashioned oats
2 tbsp dry milk
1 1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp bread machine/ fast rise yeast

2 Pound Loaf:

13 ounces water (1 1/2 cups + 2 tbsp)
2 tbsp honey
2 tbsp butter or margarine
3 1/2 cups bread flour
1 cup old fashioned oats
2 tbsp dry milk
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp bread machine/fast rise yeast

Directions:

Add liquid settings to the pan. Add in butter. Add in all the dry ingredients, minus the yeast. Tap pan gently to settle the ingredients. Make a well in the middle of the dry ingredients and carefully add the yeast into the well. Lock pan into your bread machine and adjust settings accordingly (basic, color desired, and size of loaf). Close bread machine door, push start, and wait until baked. Once done, remove pan from machine. Allow to cool for about 10 minutes. Remove bread from pan and slice if desired warm, or allow to cool completely before storing.
