Homemade Peanut Butter

My kids are HUGE peanut butter and jelly fans. Seriously, they want a sandwich for their lunch almost everyday. Needless to say, we go through A LOT of peanut butter. We make batches of our own jam in the summer and use that through the year. I realized it is SUPER simple to make peanut butter, and now we will be making our own, rather than buying it. Our peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are now completely homemade. Now I just need a simple bread recipe, and we are all set, hehe!!! Trust me, this peanut butter tastes amazing and is literally one ingredient! Try it, you’ll never go back to store bought!!

Peanuts (that’s it, one ingredient)

In a food processor, pour in peanuts. *I used roasted peanuts. Start up your food processor and spin, spin, spin. You will need to crush/spin the peanuts for about 5 minutes, depending on the texture desired. We like ours creamy, so we processed it for about 6 minutes. Once peanuts are to desired texture, pour peanut butter into a mason jar, or airtight container. I store mine in the refrigerator. As long as you use it within about a month, you can store it in your pantry if you prefer.

If you don’t have roasted peanuts, you can roast them yourself. Its much cheaper to buy regular raw peanuts and roast them at home. Here’s how:

Preheat oven to 300. Spread raw peanuts on a cookie sheet and bake in oven about 30 minutes, or until golden brown. Keep checking them so they don’t burn. Once roasted, allow them to cool off about 15-20 minutes before making peanut butter!
