Parmesan Basil Chicken

I made this dinner last night and it was a total success!  My husband and kids ate it all up so fast. I love dinners where I can just put food in the crock pot in the morning and leave it on all day.  My husband works 10 minutes from home and comes home for lunch every day.  One less meal that I have to cook over the stove is a plus for me.  Further more, my 3 and 5 year old licked their plates clean so I must say that is a success.  I am a couponer and I have plenty of the Progresso Recipe Starters in my pantry.  You can usually find an awesome deal for these so keep your eyes peeled.


1 can of the Progresso Recipe starter in Creamy ParmesanBasil

1 package (mine was 1.4 lbs) of frozen chicken breast strips

2 tablespoons of butter

2 cloves of garlic- minced

½ a cup of millk

¼ a cup of all-purpose flour

½ a cup parmesan cheese

¼ teaspoon of Tony Cachere’s seasoning (for a bit of a kick,this is optional)

Salt and pepper to taste


Place the chicken, Progresso recipe starter, butter, garlic,salt, pepper, and parmesan cheese in the slow cooker and cook for 6 hours onlow.  Add the milk and flour 30 minute sbefore serving to let the sauce thicken.  I poured the sauce over Farfalle noodles and diced the chicken.  I added the Tony Cachere’s to my own plate, because I like it to have a kick, but left the kids portions as is.
