Cajun Shrimp Pasta

My mom came home from visiting my aunts house a while back and talked about how yummy one of the pasta dishes were that my aunt made. My mom made it for us because she said it was super simple and full of flavor, ever since then, we have made this and each time, its a huge hit. Its easy to adjust to ones liking, and only calls for a few ingredients! I am not a huge seafood lover, so sometimes I put chicken in it instead of shrimp!

1 lb pasta, cooked (any kind can be used, string pastas such as fettuccine work best)
Shrimp or Chicken
Cajun seasoning (this is in the spice aisle at grocery store)
1 Chicken Bouillon Cube
2 cloves garlic, minced
Heavy Whipping cream
Red Pepper flakes
1/2-1 cup chopped spinach (optional)

In large pan, boil water with the Bouillon cube and cook pasta. While pasta is cooking, put shrimp or chicken in a saucepan and sprinkle heavily with Cajun seasoning (this is where you can adjust the flavor, add lots for full taste, add a little for just a hint of Cajun). Once chicken or shrimp is thoroughly cooked, add in heavy whipping cream. You can add as much as you would like, typically we use one carton (small) of the whipping cream. Stir in the spinach, if using and minced garlic. Sprinkle red pepper flakes into mixture. Once sauce is bubbling, pour onto cooked/drained pasta and mix. Serve. *You can sprinkle some Parmesan cheese on top, or additional Cajun spice/red pepper flakes to taste.
