One of my hubby’s favorite breakfasts (or meals in general for that matter) is biscuits and gravy. Nothing screams comfort food more than flavorful sausage gravy and warm, fluffy biscuits.
Are you a breakfast fan? Typically I am not! I would rather skip straight to lunch and dinner if I had the choice, since breakfasts never seem to appeal to me.
However, when I can make a hearty, comfort food meal for breakfast, I definitely jump on the opportunity! Things like Biscuits and Gravy, Bacon and Eggs, Omelets, and more. Basically, anything that has substance versus sugar type foods that will make you feel gross later in the day!
Here are some other great breakfast options to try:
Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast Casserole
Ham, Cheese, and Broccoli Crustless Quiche
Last weekend, I whipped this up for breakfast on a Saturday morning and there was enough leftover for us to enjoy again on Sunday.
It is a “stick to your ribs” kind of dish, so no need to rush into lunch prep! Even my kiddos enjoyed this, and that’s impressive since they are typically picky eaters!!
As long as you have breakfast sausage and biscuits on hand, you most likely already have the few other ingredients in your pantry and can whip this up!!
If you have a cast iron skillet, I highly recommend cooking with that as its perfect for this recipe! Not only is cast iron non-stick, but it also adds iron to your food and can be used in both the oven and on the stove. I use my skillet any and every chance I can! Check out the link in the recipe card below to see the skillet I have and love!

Do you drain any of the grease?
Kristin
Nope, you will use that as part of the liquid needed for the rest of the recipe! Enjoy!

why so much butter???
Kristin
You can cut it down or omit it if desired, I have found that the butter adds a richness to the flavor and makes it quite tasty!! Up to you on amount desired though!! Enjoy!
