Triple Chocolate Mousse Cake

Let me first start out by saying that my hubby gets full credit for making this. My job was the taste tester, not the baker in this case. What a guy, right?? I’m lucky!!

This past weekend, I briefly mentioned that I was in the mood for dessert. I wasn’t really in the mood for anything specific, and was feeling kind of lazy, so I took the thought and pushed it to the back of my mind. My hubby on the other hand, took my comment, went straight to Pinterest, and found this cake. He even loaded up the kids and headed to the store to get the missing ingredients! Again, what a guy, right??

Although this dessert did take a while to make, it was pretty easy (he said). The only reason it took a while was because there were three layers, and the first layer had to be cooled, etc.

That evening, when this dessert was ready for its official taste test (my job, woo hoo!!), seriously…..we were both blown away. I don’t know how many times I repeated “this is the best dessert ever”, but I lost count after about 20!! This is most definitely the best dessert I have ever had in MY ENTIRE LIFE! Yes, entire life!!!

Each layer is amazing by itself, but when combined, the combination is out of this world. If you are going to a party, having company over, or friends…definitely make this. Everyone will love it, I promise! Or, you can do what we are doing and just keep it in the refrigerator to enjoy throughout the week, hehe!! Thanks OMG Chocolate Desserts for this amazing recipe!




  • 10 oz semi sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened

Chocolate Mousse Layer

  • 10 oz semi sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tsp unflavored gelatin
  • 2 tbsp. cool water

White Chocolate Mousse Layer

  • 10 oz white chocolate, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tsp unflavored gelatin
  • 1 tbsp. cool water
