Bread Machine Breadsticks

Last night with dinner, I made these bread sticks. The entire family loved them and they were simple to make. I love experimenting with my bread machine and since I had never made bread sticks before, I figured I should try. You can change this recipe up by adding sesame seeds or any other topping you may want. I used Italian Seasoning and garlic salt. This recipe makes about 16 bread sticks, so you can freeze the leftovers for another night, or just serve lots of people. Enjoy!


1 1/3 cup water
1 tbsp butter
1 1/2 tbsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
4 cups bread flour
2 tsp yeast
1 egg white
1 tbsp water
Italian Seasoning/Garlic Salt/Sesame seeds


Add the water, butter, sugar, salt, flour, and yeast to the bread pan in order as listed. Place pan into machine and put on dough cycle. When dough is ready, remove from pan and place on flat surface. Cut dough into pieces, about the size of an egg, and roll/stretch into 6-8 inch ropes. Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Cover with a towel and allow to rise for about 20 minutes. Mix the egg white and water together in small bowl and brush the glaze on top of bread sticks. Sprinkle desired toppings on top and place pan in a preheated oven, 400, for about 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven and enjoy!!
