Slow Cooker Mac & Cheese

Although I have tried multiple macaroni and cheese recipes over the years, my family always goes back to the Kraft Macaroni and Cheese being their favorite. I know, I know, its not good for you, full of this and that, but they love it, haha. I decided to attempt yet another version of macaroni for dinner last night and let me tell you, this may go down as our new favorite. My kids ate it down so fast and then asked for seconds. My son even requested it for dinner tonight again! There is a little “prep” work involved before it goes into the slow cooker, but it is definitely worth it!!! This would be perfect for potlucks too, as you can just bring the slow cooker with you, : )

2 1/2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
4 tbsp butter
2 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 cup sour cream
1 (10.75 oz) can cheddar cheese soup
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup milk
1/2 tsp pepper
Boil the macaroni for 6 minutes and drain. In a medium pan, melt together the butter and cheese over medium heat, until melted and combined. Spray your slow cooker with cooking spray. Add the sour cream, cheese soup, salt, milk, and pepper into your slow cooker. Once combined, add in the melted cheese mixture. Slowly combine the cooked macaroni in. Once mixed together, cover slow cooker with lid and cook 2 hours on low. Stir about 2 times as macaroni is cooking. Serve warm!!
